I cannot forget OML telling an interviewer the first time Jimma and the Cowboys were going to the Super Bowl that he (Landry) "would be too busy" to see the game. before that, Landry's cross-state chase that made Jerra fire him on a golf course, also left a bitter taste in meine mouth. Landry had his heyday.
Unnecessary deifying him works well with the rest of the mens here, but it do not go far with me.

Regarding Jerry "chasing" Coach Landry cross-state ( I kind of doubt Austin is that far from Dallas but I'm not gonna look it up) Coach Landry had a home in Austin I'm fairly sure. I doubt it put Jerry out that much.

I'm also fairly confident that most of the "mens" here don't deify Coach Landry & certainly don't refer to him as old man Landry.

Listen: someone who made his mark with the Cowboys and benefitted from the riches and publicity etc. then to have to listen to that guy say he will be too busy to watch the Cowboys return to the Super Bowl . . . . ??????

Too busy? What, he was gonna reorganize his socks collection or do researched on the Joe Don Blocker School of Acting?
Too busy? Yeah, right.

Also, playing coy and intentionally not making hisself available to jerra during those tough changing of the guard days, that tolt me plenty about the man.
Once an icon then a bitter old coach who will not wish subsequent teams with the best. If indeed some cowboys "fan" was too busy to watch them return to Super Bowl glory, that is one heck of a busy old guy.

Nein, I do not forget those things.
