elliot and pollard together have 300 carries and 1500 yds rushing.
that is surpising, and dallas rushed 39 times in colt game and is why they won the game.
rushing well opens up the passing game.
colts could not run the ball and passed way too much especially once they got behind.

Pollard has the speed on the edge that this offense needed desperately.

This is one of the big reasons we didnt need Cooper or some big name FA WR. This offense was just fine. Lamb has proven the doubters wrong, Gallup is back and healthy and a bigger dose of Pollard has taken care of everything. Every other game Shultz gets in on the TD party.

Zeke was a side note. Davis can do what Zeke does and maybe even better at this point. Pollard is the real talent at RB and the offense has taken off once the FO figured out he was better than Zeke and started featuring him.

OBJ has some relevance, none of us know how much if any, but we better hope that Jerry knows and makes the right call on this one.
At least no draft picks will be pending.

I have no problem signing a healthy OBJ at a reasonable price. No doubt he would help the offense. Any offense. But the problem is I have little confidence in Jerry doing this correctly.

Only Jerry makes this call, we can only hope that our medical staff checks him out which they will, and more importantly the training staff takes a look at him for a minute.
Training staff will know immediately if all OBJ has been doing is eating burritos and watching reruns of the Simpsons.
I joke a bit here, but it is kind of crazy hearing reports of OBJ not working out, really.
Like any rational franchise is even going to consider hiring you with a pot belly, hot sauce stains on your shirt, and waving a sign on the corner will work for 10 mill per.
Yes indeed sir, the Joke is all on Jerry if he fails to make the right decision here.

I’d really like to just draft another quality back to pair with Pollard whom we presumably resign.

A large part of our fanbase is going to be shocked when they realize any middling back can give you what Zeke does for a fraction of the price.

I wouldn’t mind keeping Zeke but he’d have to come at a reduced cost of probably a 1/5th of what he’s currently making.

It's possible the Cowboys will have two thousand yard running backs.

Interesting...
Pollard is just ahead of Aaron Jones a guy I feel TP's upcoming contract should be similar too at $12M per.

Brian Robinson Jr. has 1 less carry than TP and he's missed a large chunk of the season.

Oh yeah, Justin Fields is insane!

I think yu give FO too much credit lol.
pollard was only featured when Z was hurt.
they are giving him more snaps now but that isnt featuring him.
everyone except the Z fanboys knows pollard is better.

That was us...for a couple years in a row.

We cannot have slow starts or get too far behind. A LOT of teams can't.

Even if we have a "slow start" we just need to stay even, and stay true to our game. Run the ball hard with our devastating RBs, make sure ot pass to our talented WRs, keep the TEs involved, and let our defense do their thing.

I admit...it's not just an easy thing that can manage itself. And we can't get too clever with it. But it isn't THAT hard either.

Anybody notice zeke doesn't have to substitute himself anyMOORE?

How about compromise...1/2 or 3/5s.

Tony Pollard needs him. As much as Zeke needs tony.

1/2 to 3/5 is PLENTY to get Tony signed and then some.

1/5 is pretty harsh...and exposes your hatred and misunderstanding of what is happening right in front of your face.

Misunderstanding of what exactly?

I like Zeke and I would like to see Dallas go back to the ground and pound game of Zeke being our bell cow. But the running back position is not a position that needs a big payout. Good production can be found at a cheaper cost. Take Jamal Williams for example... He has almost 800 yards on the year. Yet he makes 1/5 of what Zeke makes. So, even though I love Zeke, it's just the position itself. The running back position is not a position I'd offer a large contract too.

Unlike some on this forum I hope we don't foolishly let Pollard go and try to draft another RB. Not many can do what Pollard does in the entire NFL right now. We won't be able to replace it in the draft.

I get that there's a salary cap, but it doesn't mean you can't pay good players. Pretty much salary can always be moved around in the NFL. Would be stupid to let him go.

Zeke takes a paycut give it to Pollard. Done.
