Misunderstanding of what exactly?

I like Zeke and I would like to see Dallas go back to the ground and pound game of Zeke being our bell cow. But the running back position is not a position that needs a big payout. Good production can be found at a cheaper cost. Take Jamal Williams for example... He has almost 800 yards on the year. Yet he makes 1/5 of what Zeke makes. So, even though I love Zeke, it's just the position itself. The running back position is not a position I'd offer a large contract too.
My comment is pretty specific to who I quoted.

However..I';m a big believer in chemistry. It's taken several years to get HERE. A lot of that is "turmoil" in our organization, coaching changes, a "learn on the job" OC. Even Zeke said "I had to work through this to get HERE". This isn;t some mechanical plug and play hardware.

We FINALLY have a steady o'line, QB finding his NFL skills and role, coaches understanding the talent they have, and superstar RB duo that trusts each other.

This is not an easy formula.....not for us anyway.

I HATE people are SO obsessed with the fkiun "contract". Try to enjoy it for now.....and worry about zeke taking 20 bucks a game in the off season.

I think yu give FO too much credit lol.
pollard was only featured when Z was hurt.
they are giving him more snaps now but that isnt featuring him.
everyone except the Z fanboys knows pollard is better.

It took them a while, but they finally figured out Pollard is better and are at least giving him half the touches.

Unlike some on this forum I hope we don't foolishly let Pollard go and try to draft another RB. Not many can do what Pollard does in the entire NFL right now. We won't be able to replace it in the draft.

I get that there's a salary cap, but it doesn't mean you can't pay good players. Pretty much salary can always be moved around in the NFL. Would be stupid to let him go.

Zeke takes a paycut give it to Pollard. Done.

It is nearly impossible for the Cowboys to keep Zeke. A paycut thing doesnt work.

Tony Pollard was no diamond in the rough. He showed last year what he was made of. This is just the owner deciding over the Coach.

Fans aren't going to disagree. Hard to go against a dude like Zeke. RB - blood, sweat, and tears. And a great legacy in Dallas. We're loyal.

That's ok with me. I feel like we can replace Zeke in the draft I mean yes Zeke's blocking is fantastic and he can get some tough yards sometimes, but it's replaceable. Pollard isn't easily replaceable.

Too bad Pollard had to sit behind another runner for couple of years.
He could have been the second coming of Tony Dorsett.

Totally agree. And there is a couple of great big, tough yard type backs in FA that are better than Zeke at this point. That can be had for under 5 million.

Might now be able to keep Pollard either. We shall see.

No, that is way too expensive. No sense in making the same mistake again and overpaying a RB.

So let Pollard go so you have a little more cap space for what or who? We never sign anyone good in free agency and hardly make trades. Who is going to improve our team MORE with that money than Pollard? You cap space obsessed people need to stop. You act like it's your own money that you need to save.

Pollard is not Zeke and he has not been ran into the ground like Zeke was and he will not get fat like Zeke did. It is just senseless to think Pollard is going to end up being a shell of himself in his 2nd contract like Zeke. 3rd contract after we've ran him into the ground? Maybe, we'll see.

I'm paying him 100%, the only way I wouldn't is if it stopped us from keeping Micah for example, which is not the case.
