What's it going to be then, eh?

Maybe Tony watches practice and sees Crawford blowing up all his Olineman we spent 1st round picks on. That's my bet.

Or he has seen Crawford blowing up the likes of Phil Costa, Bernadeau, Parnell and Livings. And it had to have been 2012. He made it through a couple of minutes in 2013.

They are doing so much talking, ugh.

They get stopped at the water cooler on the way out of practice and whatever they say becomes the gospel for the day. Since they didn't win the Sb last year they're supposed to ignore all reporters or just criticize everyone on the team.

I hope Tony is right. But there are a lot of DL I'll be rooting for this year.

I hope so, too! As for Crawford, I hope he is one of many young players (Claiborne, Carter, Holloman, Leary, Williams, etc.) that break out this year.

I don't know how to feel about him. He was kind of considered a reach in the 3rd round and more of a project player. He didn't play much as a rookie but looked okay when he did. But that was in a 3-4. Then we switched to a 4-3 and he got hurt walking into the building. So I have no idea. He's not really ideal size to play any D-line position, but our coaches claim he's versatile enough to play all of them. I really don't know. But I'm interested to see. We need all the help we can get. To be honest, I have very low expectations for the defense. I just hope we can not be the worst defense in the history of the NFL because I think the offense can be good enough to possibly get us to the playoffs.

I'd say he's ideal size for a strong side DE.

6'4", 33 3/4" arms, would be more natural weight around 275-280lbs.

Or maybe he's seen him work his *** off coming back from injury, heard the coaches rave about him and seen him prepare for this upcoming year.

Just looking forward to seeing Crawford. He was given high praise by Hatcher last year and now Romo. Just got to get healthy and stay on the field.

I'm honestly tired of both. Especially when they're mocking arguments nobody actually made. Though, yeah, the over dramatic doom and gloom is really annoying in general.

Exactly, If we could just convince the posters with nothing to say to say it less often...........

You left out the Ben Bass.

http://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2014...n-bass-profile-defensive-line-3-tech-DE-DL-DT

We have a very interesting group of guys on the D line.

The more I think about it, I would trying a starting, run down, line up like this:

LDE - Bass
1 - McClain
3 - Melton
RDE - Crawford

That gives us great size and I think Crawford will surprise a lot of folks this year. He is athletic and relentless. Probably not the prototype RDE, but could excel on first down there. Bass to me fits for a LDE.

Backups:

LDE - Gardner
1 - Bishop
3 - Coleman
RDE - Lawrence

Okoye and Wilson. Wilson has great measurables, but hasn't quite put it together yet. He's been tried mostly as a LB/3-4 OLB. We're giving him a shot at DE. Okoye sticks for depth. That's 10 D lineman. We may only go with 9, so one of these guys may not make it.

On passing downs we could roll out this for a look:

LDE - Gardner/Wilson
1 - Crawford
3 - Melton
RDE - Lawrence

I don't think Mincey has the heart to play. I think Selvie is JAG. Hayden is JAG. I would love to see all three not part of this roster in 2014.

No matter how it plays out, with the depth we have, we will be much better than last year. It's time to build a young, hungry defense.

I see this more than the above.
Looking forward to seeing how this plays out in any case.

Isn't this the analysis of every pick in every round, including the 1st round for any Dallas draft.
But if it was the Patriots, it would have been a great pick....
But you are right that we don't know what kind of impact he will have, but the coaches, teammates and now Romo, say he can play, and they know more than we do.

And if they didn't say anything, you would complain they aren't talking.
Well, actually if they didn't talk, it could cut the "waste of time" thread counts.....:D
You want to go back to Parcells when he would not allow even the coaches talk to the media, except for certian times and limited minutes, for players too.

Why the Mincey love? What has he done except for skip meetings? He is very linear with no anchor. I'd dump him based on what we have. I don't want his type on this team.

Crawford will show to be twice the player Selvie is. On either side. I think Bass, if healthy, is far better than Selvie too.

Okoye? I think he makes the team, but barely.

I want my best guys starting. To me that's Bass, McClain, Melton and Crawford.

Idk I hope it's true, and with dlaw hopefully adding rush off the edge this line could Be special. That would give us 3 standouts and a hand full of solid rotation guys.

Still wanna sign Kevin Williams tho.
