The offense is predicated on what the defense gives them. On many plays, Tony's got two passes and a run that he can check down to. This means we'll end up using up much of the play clock.

It does seem like we're getting the ball off with a second left a lot of the time, though, and that does make things a lot easier on the defense.

Who was the "mental health" person that threw the ball right to the steeler, gift-wrapped the game for them last season?

And who was the guy that lead the league in drops? I forgot his name, it starts with a T. Your butthurt is growing tiresome.

This is all the responsiblity of the coaches, both the "Kill" and the cadence. Someone on the staff isn't doing their job.

32 centers in this league. Gurode is in the minority that keeps his QB on his toes, every single shotgun snap. Perhaps he needs to wake up.
This is soooo true. Every high school center can learn to hike the ball to a quarterback in the shot gun but not Gurode. When he doesn't hike the ball over Romo's head he gets it there in slow motion, end over end, usually up around his left ear. It is really annoying!!!!

How about an audible call(Kill Kill Kill!) that the entire world doesn't know? That would help.

You probably want to look deeper than Gurode. our clown of an offensive coordinator is not a genius, maybe he is at math, but not calling plays.

Whether it's Romo or Garrett, but all this yipping and yelling Romo does before the snap, throwing his hands all over the place, it means nothing. And waiting until the last second to snap the ball, any defense in the world including pee wee, middle school, high school, college, flag ball, semi-pro, canadian football, knows the snap count when 1 second is on the clock.

Yeah, you have problems with Gurode? Go ahead and cut him, Watch the golden boy Run for his life, throw more interceptions, then sit at the end of the bench with his head in hand thinking about the next trip he and his celeb friend will take during the week.

Ya'll go ahead and blame everyone on the team, I'll focus on 1 person.

Two things. One is this...

I can't stand that either.

The other is that stupid "KILL KILL KILL" we hear from Romo. Every time I hear that I cringe becaue that usually means a handoff to Barber for no gain.

Do you remember the Monday night game versus the Eagles, everytime Romo would yell "KILL KILL KILL" Dawkins would run up to the line and yell "RUN!!!!" and we would get nothing.

He already does all of the above with Gurode at center and nobody said anything about cutting Gurode. Neither Romo nor Gurode is perfect. We would just like to see better snaps throughout the course of the ballgame. One less thing for our quarterback to worry about.

I would like to see a lot of things. Gurode is not a problem. Flozell and Columbo are the problems on that offensive line. Unfortunately, not much we can do about it because Jerry spends his time drafting OLBs and TEs and totally forgetting about the OLine, except for later on in the draft.

Does anybody think that Tony Romo needs to work on his pre-snap cadence a little bit? I was wondering that and trying to think about his past games and how well that was utilized... ... I can't ever remember any announcer (especially Troy!!) ;) , during a game saying that Romo is keeping the defense on its heels by changing his cadence periodically...

I'm sure that has to give the running game a bit of an edge due to what it does to the mindset of the opposing DL. But by that, Romo and the OL have to be on the same page consistently. Does anyone think that could be a problem with our OL? Think positive now...:)

Just curious.

There are probably several things Romo could do better to help himself, and changing the cadence is one of the biggest things he could do. I'd like to see him roll out more like he used to. Garrett tried to make him into a Brady look-a-like, and that failed miserably.

Very good question. In addition to his cadence that never seems to change have you noticed that he always gets the ball with one second left on the clock, every single time. He also spends a lot of time imitating Peyton Manning and pointing all over the place as if it means anything to anyone. Bottom line it always looks like he is out of control at the line instead of steady and in control.
Actually, that's a pretty good thing.

The main reason teams wait until the snap gets down to 0 is it forces the defense to back out of their disguised alignment. It's basically to maximize the QB's pre-snap reads vs a defense. It also tires out the dline faster, and keeps your defense off the field.

Correct on both counts. Knowing your time left to that degree indicates discipline, not lack of preparation.

Maybe this upcoming season the OL can crouch, stand back up, and then get in their stance like they did back in the days of the Wrights, Raffertys, Fitzgeralds, and H. Scotts, etc. ... Give the OL some old school look in the new house.

It allows guys like Tucker to get up in Romo before he has time to do anything. Peyton Manning does it the right way. He gets his offense out of the huddle fairly quickly with about 19 seconds on the clock.

Then he goes through numerous reads etc... Calls out different signals, and with 8 seconds on the clock, you never know when he's going to snap the ball, he's almost always into the play before the DLine gets up off the ground.

Thanks for the insight... It just seemed the OL did not have that discipline... or at least wasn't consistent when it needed it to be when the offense was on a roll. I hope a revived running game can provide better YPC next year... There were too many 3 and outs IMHO. Those wont look good breaking in a new billion dollar stadium.
