For years, Brady (our guy) has been called Marsha, gay, a whinner, a system QB, etc. on the Colts web site. There is always some negative comment about him. It just never ends. The whinner one always gets to me -- Manning and the Colts are in a constant state of whine. Oh FYI, on the Colts site Romo has been called homo. Good thing you don't play them all the time and have to listen to it.
Why do they do this? Well in spite of Manning being a great QB when he is comfortable with the situation (in particular things like the Pro Bowl) he doesn't do so well in unknown territory (like pressure). I think he was in that territory when he was in your neck of the woods. And in the playoffs, I think he will be OK with NE now, but say someone new, or it is cold, or whatever -- the guy just is not himself. So in spite of a great regular season record, he just has not been at his best when it counts. NO Super Bowl. I'm really not sure if he will ever get one. The pressure of the SB I think would make him really, really nervous. So, the answer is to criticize the guy winning the bowl. Doesn't make a lot of sense, but then who cares if you have the bowl???
As far as Romo I have posted before on this site about him. He shows a lot of promise and as a result will get negative things said about him. Actually, he does smile quite a bit, but I think it is because he feels like a kid in a candy shop -- getting to start. But, and I don't need to tell you this, it is still too soon to put him in the HOF. Time will be the clear indicator.
So, get ready for the negative comments, they will be a coming.

Fear??? Are you sure you are not a Colt fan???
Fletch;1184965 said:Hey, it's all because the rest of the NFL fans are seeing that the Cowboys have yet another special guy taking snaps under center, and it's gut wrenching to them being that we've owned the league in year's past and it looks like we are heading back in the right direction to reclaim the throne.
When the Cowboys are on the rise, we are one of the most hated teams in the league, unless you are a Cowboys fan! It's great isn't it?![]()

LaTunaNostra;1185673 said:The way Tony constantly turns all congratulations and complements in his pcs to praise of the team is what comes across most compellingly. He is charmingly and genuinely humble - not a hint of false humility. But a lot of intelligence behind his responses.
Romo is SO non-arrogant that the compound word 'self-effacing' is apropos, and if it's his smile that makes some folks think 'cocky', they need a few sessions with Dr Phil.
Really. It's laughable to attribute such words to Romo, and unfortunate that real 'success' is so rare that it has begun to equal 'arrogance' in some folks' minds.
The next Aikman?
"That stuff's great," Romo said, "You guys bringing up his name; he's in such another stratosphere. That makes me smile."
Thinking again, Romo couldn't help from smiling at what he said there, knowing - with a smile, of course - "I smile a lot. If I was walking down the street right now, I'd smile."
He isn't arrogant, but he does smile a lot more than most.bluestar4ever;1185737 said:Okay, that sounds really cocky and arrogant to me. Don't all the qb's in the league smile when their team scores? I thought that would just be human nature.
