Tony Romo.... cocky and arrogant?

Romo isn't cocky. The other teams are just jealous of his success. What's wrong with smiling after a play? Or even, GASP!, having fun while playing football.

he does'nt strike me as cocky. more like a kid playing back yard football and having a blast at it.he smiles all the time. it's called having fun and if they where winning they would be smiling too.

Relative to Manning. I truly believe if he could get over the "mind" factor, he could have been the best QB that ever played.

It is not the defense, it is Manning. He never won the big one in college, and he in my opinion will never win the big one in the big leagues.

I have watched this guy enough that I can look at his face at the beginning of a game and tell you if he will win or lose. You may think I'm nuts, but I am dead serious. Bledsoe to a lesser degree had the same problem. Be glad you are rid of him. Manning of course has more natural talent than Bledsoe. At least he can read a defense -- pretty good actually.

And YoMick, no I do not think we have a snowball's chance in you know where that we will see the Bowl this year. You will have to wait until next year when hopefully the Pats management snaps out of it and gets Brady some offense -- at least we got a good RB this year. And Watson is good. After that old, on the way out, or never good.

You just have to wait.

I tell you one thing....I will be MUCH more tempted to pick up a copy of Madden 2007 next year. And I suspect that all of you gamers will have TONS more fun playing Madden next year.
Romo may end up getting a 98 or 99 overall rating if he keeps up this performance and takes us to a SB.

i hate brady because he's a *******. brady complains all the time about the refs, everyone can picture his whiny face because he whines so much, and after losing a game against san diego, schottenheimer tried to compliment the pats, and brady said he should stick to talking about his team. not to mention he had his superbowl vehicle changed by chrysler countless times, and had the gall to complain about the delay.

romo is entirely different. brady came from michigan and got drafted and never had to overcome anything. romo played in I-AA, didn't get drafted and worked hard for 4 yrs not knowing if he would get a chance.

brady = belichek = mcnabb = a lying owens. they all work extremely hard, but they're all selfish competitive pricks. brady is smart enough to use his boyish charm to fake it. owens is real.

romo on the other hand is a breath of fresh air, a true underdog coming from nothing, just like kurt warner. he's also mimicing BP in the press conferences, just toying with them, which is truly remarkable given his lack of experience with the press, either he's just that good or he's genuine. in that sense, he's going to be a media darling if his play keeps up, just like brett favre

Here's the problem: even when he's barking instructions, he appears to be laughing. But I don't begrudge him for celebrating after a TD. Who would?

He's young and getting his shot.

He's winning games.

Putting up huge numbers.

Who cares how happy and cocky his is. He is obviously thriving off his own confidence. He's putting the offense on his shoulders and making things happen. I say he can act how he wants. Dont fix whats not broke.

Romo is no dummy. You can be as great as you want, but if you have no public identity, you're just another guy. Romo, if he continues his great and inspiring play, and God help us, make it to the Bowl and win it, he will break records for commercials.

Smart man, keep up the smiles and the great play!

Okay, that sounds really cocky and arrogant to me. Don't all the qb's in the league smile when their team scores? I thought that would just be human nature.

Except Aikman, the Stonefaced Killer back in the day.

I don't begrudge him for celebrating a first down. Seeing him laugh is delightful, after years of sour pussing, weed smoking, athritic creaking, hopeless dreaming, and pillar of salting behind center.

I want to laugh too, 24/7 - just because Tony's NOT his recent predecessors.

That boy is living the dream, generous enough to show us his pleasure in it, and wise enough to have some perspective about exactly where he is in relation to history and the great players.

Laugh on, Tony!

Romo Cocky and Arrogant.......OK.....Give me a team full of cocky & arrogant.

In Dallas Cocky & Arrogant= Swagger.

Swagger= Super Bowls

I'm reading on other teams forums {espcially the Bucs} that Romo is cocky and arrogant and how he gloats? What in the world are they talking about? They mention him celebrating and smiling after scores?! I've seen Chad Johnson, Steve Smith, and Merriman acting like morons after a good play? Rowing a boat, snow angles, fireman pole on the goal post, CPR, Golf with endzone pylon, and that on himself Lights out signal..... and Romo giving his teamates high fives and smiling is gloating!??!? Vick after throwing 3 TD's has a press conference talking about how incredable of a passer he is and how people need to show him respect, and Romo is the gloater?! The prejeduce against the Cowboys is unreal.

Oh, it's that freakin' contageous winning attitude! Romo exudes moxie.... This has been a lot of the reason Parcells took this guy in. And as long as Tony Romo carries himself with that winning attitude, cockiness, swaggar -whatever you want to call it - we have a chance to get in the heads of other teams and pick them apart with the confidence of knowing that we can march down the field and beat their defense with our offense because our quarterback is CRAFTY!

I haven't felt this elated by the performence of a player since I became a fan in the late 80s. And I haven't seen a player that I've felt is so promising since that time either.

How many guys have we gone through that didnt' have it up stairs and/or didn't have the mobility or gumption to be our quarterback?

It would take four of your limbs to count them on.

Santa Clause came early this year.

Romo in the HOUSE!

Hey, it's all because the rest of the NFL fans are seeing that the Cowboys have yet another special guy taking snaps under center, and it's gut wrenching to them being that we've owned the league in year's past and it looks like we are heading back in the right direction to reclaim the throne.

When the Cowboys are on the rise, we are one of the most hated teams in the league, unless you are a Cowboys fan! It's great isn't it? :)

I can't argue with you here, Fletch.

Exactly, Barb.

I'm trying to recall exactly when and where I've observed the Romo brand of insouciance...who has the correlating degree of slightly devilish grin, the fetching dimples, and the boyish charm that spell NFL 'symbol'.....

I want to say Brady, but Tom lacks Romo's level of self-amazement. Brady is as humble, but less agreeable.

Namath? His attraction came with a decided edge, (and a quart of Johnnie Walker Red).

Nope..the closest parallel is Favre, once again.

Tony is the closest to Brett in that 'charming cockiness', 'bashful arrogance' category.

I hope TR racks up a few endorsements, btw.

Manning plastered all over the tube is getting mighty sickening.

Charming cockiness ... that's a good (an accurate) way of looking at it. Someone earlier dubbed him the Smiling Assassin ... I kind of liked that nickname.
