Tony Romo does make that much of a difference

Over the last several years there hasn't been a better QB in football than Tony Romo.

Now that statement would get laughed at outside of this fan base but I firmly believe it and my big brother @percyhoward can prove it.

It's a completely different team with him out there, IMO.

It's uncanny, seriously. Even basketball with five players, he seems to have more influence on his team.

When the Phins tied us up at 14, our Romoless squad would have fallen off & given the game way. Romo ( though not perfect today ) was the spark we needed & we quickly made up for our earlier mistakes. Defense even stepped up when we needed them. It was a good feeling.

I could not disagree more. That this franchise is so utterly dependent on one player (to the point that they look like a different team in all phases of the game when he is not playing) is an absolute indictment.

Romo led Cowboys = 3-0

Garrett led Cowboys trying to get a couple of wins in his absence = 0-7

Let's enjoy the remainder of Romo's career. Because this franchise is about to go into the wilderness when he retires.

While it demonstrates how good Tony is, on balance its not a good thing when you cant win a single game out of seven without one guy.

I'm ok agreeing to disagree there. I never expected great things from the backup QBs we had on the roster, and other factors beyond QB play played into each of those losses.

And, of course I'll enjoy the remainder of his career. I'm comfortable with the ability of the group we've got right now to identify and develop talent. Of course, QB is the toughest position in the league to get right, but we have to replace him some day, no matter who the coach is.
