Back problems are no joke. My golfing buddy has been sidelines for 3 years with a spinal problem. He goes to the range once and he's done for the season! But Tony's back is worse than mine and I am almost 70. He must really love golf if he has to get on all 4s and stretch while his match play opponent is putting! That's real dedication to the game.

I haven't played in years because of my back, but I'm thinking about heading back out there, now I've got an inversion table. I'll still have to try to change to a more vertical swing, rather than turning my body.

Nothing is wrong with me. Tony got his arse kicked regularly. What I am saying is that he no longer had to carry the team....he had a SUPER stud blocking running back drafyed JUST FOR HIM....one that MADE a mid-round rookie a viable NFL QB.

WHAT is WRONG with YOU? Why is it so hard to realize what zeke and that healthy 2016 o-line would have done for a FULLY healed Romo?

I say "fully" because Tony often either just played hurt, which gets you more hurt...or came back too soon. Dak allowed him to get healthy and it showed.

For the record...I sense your trap. I am not a Dak hater. He's our QB...let's go Cowboys.

Bo was injured in a freak football accident when he landed awkwardly on his hip. It wasn't an overuse injury. back in the 80's, that's all it took to end a career.

That said, when you are already nursing a "tender" lower back from football, there is no question golf would aggravate the situation. So, Romo used to limit his golf to the offseason later in his career.

I haven't played in years because of my back, but I'm thinking about heading back out there, now I've got an inversion table. I'll still have to try to change to a more vertical swing, rather than turning my body.

I have a minor lower back problem. It does not bother me when I play golf. Aging really limits flexibility though. I added some drills to my workout regimen specifically to help regain some flexibility, shoulder rotation, hip rotation, etc. All things considered I would rather be 35 again.

Ouch. I feel for Tony Romo. Back injuries are no joke, and sadly, they do tend to give you more problems as you age just like Tony's back started giving him problems during this match-play tournament he was participating in in Wisconsin recently.



Even then, Tony was tough enough to finish the match and help lead his team to a win.

After the match, Romo was asked by WisDotGolf’s Rob Hernandez about how he deals with back pain.

“My back, it definitely pops up more often than I’d like,” Romo said. “But I played 36 holes yesterday. I do this whole routine beforehand. I can’t just show up and play.”

The 42-year-old was shooting 1-under par after the 14th hole and wound up with a 1-up win to improve to 3-0.

Not say it was the reason for back injury but Romo's offseason conditioning program was garbage..... Golf tournaments and core work is the reason Romo's fitness was usually questioned going into camp......since Cabo shenanigans

While zekes blocking prowess (which is overblown by some )could have been part of the reason the real reason was because they let demarco Murray get away and they saw how successful Romo had become in 2014
And even with all that success in 2014 a healthy Romo was hampered by the same problem 2016 Dak was

Aaron Rodgers and the lack of defense when it counts.

and furthermore the only reason they were in position to draft zeke was because TR was injured prior to 16 which was a theme

Yes ...... one series that he did not get touched.

Romo was a great quarterback and one of my favorite players of all time ........ but one more big hit and he might be doing sports casting in a wheelchair. His back was done.

People have a hard time getting past the rags to riches story that TR represents and they sometimes forget that he had chances and for 1 reason or another he and the cowboys came up short

But...I can come up EASILY....three team mates critical plays. Patrick Crayton drop, DeMarco Murray fumble, Dez Bryant no TD.

I admit it's all speculation. It is either a team game or it isn't. Applies to Tony as much as it does to Dak.

You say Dez Bryant I say there was still time on clock for Green Bay the defense wouldn’t have held up I also say there was a wide open Beasley underneath

and while that was a questionable call he beat Detroit on a questionable call. Take the bad with good

it’s all about perspective he had chances while he may not be the blame in all cases he’s part of the team that failed just like Dak was who played well in defeat

if it makes you feel better blame Garrett. There are some that wanted so badly for him (Romo) to have a ring that they will go to any length to argue why he should have been put back in and truth be told very few coaches would have switched back from a team that was on that kind of a roll

For what it's worth...game changing plays dont; always appear in the final seconds. Murrays' fumble was essentially a 17 point swing. He was on a clear path to score....didn;t. GB scored...and got the ball back to start the 2nd half and scored again.


It's funny how we all view things with "perspective". Bias. We watch the same exact thing...and because we try to protect our fragile ego...we mince it up how we want.

I don't "blame" anyone for keeping a young Dak in. I think it is a bit odd that we did so because of superstition and Jerry said as much...."don't mess with a win streak" ...as if we're some card player at Vegas table. It was NOT because of this fragile back everyone claims. He was FINALLY healthy. And.....You play your best player.

If the team could win with a mid round, unheralded rookie QB...what could they have done with an experienced vet?

All ancient history now. We're in the same boat now....and those critical of Romo now protect Dak. We...shall see.

We’ve been in same boat for 26+ years . The problem has very rarely been on field it’s been in booth

players need to perform no doubt but the 1 common theme is the rich billionaires refusal to let a real gm take the reigns
