i think he will have opportunities in the media which is better money and better hours
Coaching is a long hard job, setting on a TV set a few hours on Sunday and making more money is a much better gig

Even though I could see him in coaching such as QB or eventually OC; don't think he would want or need to put in the hours of work at a measly salary. But I do see him more into a Aikman or Gruden type of broadcasting role. Although I like Aikman, I have grown weary of his monotone style and same expressions over and over again. His style would be like Don Meredith and that ain't too shabby. Who knows, maybe even the 3rd guy on the Monday night team?

I'd assume Peyton and Tom Brady will be winding it down around the same time as Tony does, not sure what their plans are, def see Manning on a pregame show, Brady seems too dorky

Brady is still at the top of his game. Manning is shot.

I hope he just kicks back, keeps a low profile, enjoys his family and friends, and just loves his life away from football.

I think he gets out of the media spotlight and public life and disappears into a very private life.

A lot of players just don't translate well into coaches. However, Tony has a great ablity to read defenses so I could possibly see a OC position for him at some point. Wouldn't mind him being the QB coach after he retires, cant be worse then Wade, and he would be able to continue to groom Hackenberg after he retires and he takes over. (Yes I am insinuating that's who we are going to draft)

I've read reports that say Tony is a great help developing game plans and identifying opponents weak spots. That translates to OC in his future, but the near post playing gig would be quarterback coach. Progressing to OC. And, I see this happening in Dallas. Tony will be a Cowboy for life (Jerry's life) for sure.

I love Tony, but we all know his career is near the end. What do you think he does after? He looks like he has potential in coaching. I wouldn't mind seeing him get a start on that here. He also looks like he could do well on NFL talk shows, like Irvin. Heck, even Shannon Sharpe managed it. Maybe he becomes a pizza spokesman somewhere or doing other commercials? Or does he have another plan like Staubach with real estate? Or maybe he just takes all his money he made and put it in a tub to take a money bath everyday? That would make for interesting sleepovers. Or does he do bad like McNabb and just follow a sorry path? Or does he just retire to a life sitting at home and baking crownies? What do you think happens? He's a Cowboy for life and belongs in the ring when he is done.

Sorry but Romo is no better then Danny White who was a pretty good QB and he is not in the Ring O Honor and neither is Jimmy Johnson who's players he picked won 3 Super Bowls here as far as working for the Cowboys or the NFL after he retires I don't see that happening likes Golf and his family his wife worked in TV and now she is at home no career !

Keep dreaming you have a better chance of seeing God then have Romo working as a QB coach in the NFL like he would work for 400,000 or 500,000 a year in a job that keeps him away from his family and then you woke up !

Name one player that ever made big money and became a coach? You can't. Romo will retire with a net worth north of $100 million. Would you go to work on a job that requires 80+ hours a week for 10 months out of the year? Neither will Romo. He will enjoy his millions with his family while playing in the occasion celebrity sporting event and possibly working a TV gig on Sundays if he feels like it. The only players that go into coaching are they ones that never made big money. Coaching is the highest paying gig they can get if they are halfway decent.

Making appearances, hitting a celebrity golf tournament here and there. I don't think he'll make it on one of the pre-game shows, can't compete with all the big-mouths.

I think he'll be chillin' at home with the wife and kids mostly.

Nothing alike at all.White inherited a very talented, but old team. Romo had nothing like what White had when he started. This isn't a blast on White, I admire what he did here. Romo is steps above him.

Good point, and it poses an interesting question as to who is the coach that earned the highest salary during their playing days. There are only a few truly "great" players who became coaches. Bart Starr obviously didn't make mega bucks in his era. There was clearly a point in time where NFL players salaries ballooned into the stratosphere. Munchak, Ditka and Singletary were truly great players who became coaches, but I'm fairly sure they were before the money boom.
