I don't understand why people are taking this as bad news. It's actually good. The CT scan showed Romo's collarbone is healing so well, the surgery to insert the metal plate may not be necessary. We'll know for sure in four weeks.

No matter what procedure Romo has- the metal plate or that "mumford" operation- he'll be back on the field for May's OTA's. And he's not going to take another hit until the third preseason game. There's a ton of time left for him to heal.

I might be sounding like the eternal optimist here, sorry if I am, but my big worry was the CT scan showing something bad (like poor healing or a displacement, etc.).

What happened to all the talk that the metal plate is going to make the bone stronger and less likely to break? Now this? SMH

The bone is healing to the point the plate may not be needed. And I think the plate's purpose would be to decrease the chances of a re-break. I'm no doctor, but I doubt it would make the bone stronger. Maybe Romo wants the plate just for peace of mind, who knows?

So we want to draft a QB in the first round since Aikman and that is comparable to the Browns drafting a first round QB every 2 years or so? Wow!

Yes. Going into a draft saying "we have to draft xyz" is basically the worst thing you can do.

To me, the discussion should be over. They need to draft Romo's replacement this year. And the best chance of getting the right guy is at the top of the draft.

Now watch Jerry draft a TE.

:) Just one?

Just what I thought, won't be available for OTAs.

So no work with Dez yet again in the off season.

Kind of the like the late decision on the back "procedure" a few years back.

Draft the QB.....please....

What? It said he'd be back for OTAs in May.

Doesn't bone repair after a break/multiple breaks, increase in density and actually become much stronger...naturally?

Something is fishy with report. Last week it was: if bone showed strong healing he would get plate. This week its: the bone shows good healing so he is gonna wait. Which is it? Just sounds like guy who doesn't have good options.

You go, I'd be connecting the dots for abstract directions...

I'll start.

Last week:

This week:
"CT scan that showed "good growth" in the collarbone that could lead to a result of not having to have a surgery this offseason. "

Looks like alot more going on than we realize. They are also talking about Mumford procedure which deals more with relieving pain in the shoulder rather than strengthening bone. This begs my next question of is Romo also having shoulder pain?

Healing is a developmental progression.

Carry on or understand the cartoon picture...
