As others have mentioned................we have no freaking choice right now, if we play WeedSuck we lose..................think about that fellas, we lose to Jacksonville if Romo doesn't play...............let that sink in for a little while:facepalm:

I think Jacksonville beat the Cowboys the last time they played. I'm pretty sure that's the game where the Jag players were saying the Cowboys just quit.

Fast forward to now though & I would agree although I missed the Cards game. Weeden cannot win.

Everyone talks about grinding away with Murray....but when a Def puts 9 in the box, there just isn't going to be much room to run, basically a short yardage, goaline play all game long?..........A team needs a QB who is at least a threat to complete a downfield pass.......and his teammates need that "threat " also--mentally.
****
How did Weeden get thru the preason and 6 weeks of NFL season without getting exposed to the coaching staff?.......was this outcome based quarterbacking 101?

I'd rest Romo.

If the rest of the team can't pick up the slack against one of the absolute worst teams in the league, then we don't have a chance the rest of the year anyways.

If Romo is medically cleared it would be an issue of playing with pain. If he is cleared I expect him to play, and he should.

1st off Dallas should not underestimate the Jags and 2nd I think it is pretty simple if Romo has good mobility and can make the throws he plays if he can't then he should sit.

I was at that game in Dallas. it was just deplorable, Gerrard looked all pro.

are you kidding me,the jags have a good D .i doubt we can even beat the raides with Weeden.I would start dustin Vaghaun if Romo cant go,atleast he can stay in the pocket and throw it to the open guy.

I disagree with this take.

And it sounds like he doesn't know anything about the actual injury.

Even though it is against the Jaguars, this team needs a win here. If they lose again, I think the season could slip away from them and I have no desire to go through two weeks of shaken confidence.

And Weeden is so bad, I don't think we can beat them with him at quarterback.

Have you ever been in first class? I've been to South East Asia in first class many times and it's easy. I would rather do that than sit on a 3 hour flight in a crappy middle seat, or the worst thing, stuck on the runway for a few hours.

I've been in "executive business class" or some fancy name like that, once. The other 27 or so cross-Pacific flights, I was in economy.

I actually like flying, it's just that I have lower back pain. But first class costs far too much.

he needs to play if he can. this is a good game to get back in a sync. stepnoski played center for a full season with the same injury.

Yes, business class on overseas flights is like 1st class on domestic flights.

Six days after doing the wrong thing with Tony Romo, the Dallas Cowboys got it right.

Romo didn't play in Sunday's home defeat to the Arizona Cardinals. It was a big game, loaded with NFC playoff implications. No matter. Romo's health, his availability for the stretch run of the season -- and thus, Dallas' chances to make it to the postseason -- hang in the balance. It's all too important. This was a no-brainer.

Now, on Monday evening, the Cowboysfly to London in advance of their Week 10 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. After Sunday's game, Jerry Jones said Tony Romo would make the trip -- and the owner believes he'll play.

Once again, Dallas is doing the wrong thing.

Tony Romo should not make the lengthy flight to London. And Tony Romocertainly should not play against 1-8 Jacksonville.

I'm no doctor -- though, on occasion, I do play one on television -- but I don't need a medical degree to have common sense.

NFL Media's Desmond Purnell reported Saturday that Romo has two fractures in his transverse process, a small bone that sticks out of either side of the vertebrae. This is kind of a big deal and pretty painful. While the chipped bone might not heal, rest provides an opportunity for the pain to subside.

Having Romo skip two long airplane flights -- and the sporting event where the opponent's goal is to knock down the quarterback, time after time -- would be the prudent and intelligent thing to do.

Dallas' bye comes after this week's game against the Jaguars. Thus, Romo could ultimately log three weeks of rest. And he really, really needs it.

The Cowboys' franchise face has undergone back surgery in each of the past two offseasons. A few weeks ago on my SiriusXM Radio show, "Schein on Sports," Cowboys COO Stephen Jones talked about why the quarterback wasn't practicing on Wednesdays, saying it's the byproduct of Romo's recovery from his most recent surgery. And this is the right move, to give Romo needed rest.

Now you just hope the Cowboys do the right thing in this week's game -- by keeping No. 9 out of it. Unfortunately, you don't have to jog the mental rolodex very far back to unearth the precedent of them getting it wrong.

Romo should have stayed out after he was drilled in the back and forced to leave the eventual loss to Washington in Week 8. But Romo, always tough as nails, wanted to be out there, even though he couldn't walk straight, couldn't execute. It was risky and backward logic to reinsert him in the game. Protecting Romo's physical condition and protecting the Cowboys' season should've been the priorities, not having him finish a late-October contest. NFL Media's Steve Mariucci joined my radio show the day after the game and simply said, "I couldn't believe it."

Given Romo's recent surgery history, given his practice limitations and given his vital role in Dallas' long-term success, it was short-sighted.

Romo wanted to go back in against Washington. Romo wanted to play against Arizona on Sunday. And I'm sure Romo wants to take the field in London. This guy's a gamer. He loves football and wants to deliver a championship to the Dallas Cowboys.

But the organization must protect him from himself.

Even if Romo is cleared by team doctors, Jerry Jones and Jason Garrett should see the forest for the trees.

Can Brandon Weeden beat the one-winJaguars? Heck if I know. Chances are that DeMarco Murray can help Dallas overcome Weeden's unfortunate trouble with the forward pass. I'd pick Dallas to win, even with the erratic Weeden under center. But that's not even the point.

The point revolves around Romo. It's always revolved around Romo.

He's your franchise quarterback. If theCowboys, playing in an ultra-competitive NFC that could see a 10-win team missthe playoffs, mess around with Romo, they could cripple their chances at postseason glory.

It's just too risky to toss Romo out there on Sunday. Even if he plays and throws for 400 yards in a win, it's the wrong move.

He needs to get better physically, needs to be on point for the Cowboys' difficult schedule down the stretch.

Do the right thing, Dallas.

I believe that Romo's injury was from a knee to a specific location on his back. I think the possibility of him re-injuring it is low.

The criteria for Romo to play should be no different than it was for the Cardinal game. If he can manage the pain, and have the ability to protect himself by being able to move around a bit, and isn't compromised at all, he should play. If he cannot do the above, he needs to sit out. Since he made the trip, I don't see any way that he doesn't end up playing.

Doesn't *really* matter as it's academic. Tony Romo's going to play in this game (and I bet he plays really well). But my stance hasn't changed since last week: if you're starter's medically cleared to play, and your coaches think he's healthy enough to execute, you play your starter and worry about future games in the future. NFL games are too difficult and there are too few of them to take any game lightly. Even against the Jags, even before the bye.

I really want a win for selfish reasons, too. Can you imagine this place for two full weeks on the back end of a three game losing streak? Our beloved Snowbirds would be back in droves, it'd be just like the offseason. Nobody wants to live through that level of nonsense again, right?
