Threads like these, similar to scotch, are an acquired taste.

Truth is these threads have no meaning. They are simply praise for one player. I get that.

But what makes them an acquired taste is the bickering which always ensues. One must savor the back and forth as feelings get hurt and even the smallest slight will bring out the hater label and troll label of late.

Think of a player for another team. How about Eli Manning. He has won two Super Bowls and was the MVP of both. Ask a fan of the Giants and he is pretty darn good. Even some of the press echoes that sentiment. Yet on this board he is ECry. He won because of the defense. He is an interception machine. He gets that pouty look on his face at any mistake by a teammate.

Yet the majority of the press thinks he's pretty good.

But to be sure, the Giants fans think he is underappreciated. And anyone who dares to speak against Eli is a hater.

Romo is a mirror image of Eli. (Now allow me a moment to shatter the misconception of mirror image. They are identical opposites, not merely identical.) (Hehe, I said shatter. Hehe)

Romo has not won two Super Bowls. In the case of Romo he always has the excuse made for him it was the defense that lost the games. Even though that is not exactly true. He does some amazing things, but takes risks, and they sometimes blow up in his face. The hue and cry suggest he is the only reason this team wins. He is not viewed by the press the same way that Eli is viewed. Although you will find a few former players who are now in the "media" who sings his praises loud and clear.

Yet the fans here suggest he is underappreciated and all those in the press, but the few who think highly of Romo, are all haters.

You can make this self-same argument about any tenured quarterback in the league and Romo. RapesMySister is another that really steams the beans of the Romo crowd, because they do not see him as being a top flight quarterback.

Surely not better than Romo.

His two Super Bowl wins suggest something different. especially since the MVPs of both were Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes, his receives. Because he still had to get the ball to them.

Maybe only Brady survives this argument, but to be truthful, if it came down to it, the Romophiles would say Belichick is why Brady is so great.

Learning, or being cognizant of this lack of self awareness by some here who have no perspective on Romo is what makes threads like this so special for me.

They are a laugh riot.

What the hell, they took Seinfeld off TV. You have to find your comedy someplace.

TwoD3 not entirely sure what the point you were trying to make was. I agree these threads are an acquired taste, but some people are so hell bent on throwing Romo out for a bag of chips. I understand we got the young kid here and that is exciting. However Romo is a great QB and has been one for the better part of the decade. You know as well as I do that the media did paint a very false picture of Romo and even some of our fans bought into that. So I believe Romo will be needed this year and it's doubtful they go back to the kid this year if that happens. So there is nothing wrong in believing in a guy who has made this team relevant when it had no business being relevant.

Happy Sunday

Can you give the the lottery number for tonight? I want another house on the river.
You'll never get it if you bet on Romo. 10 years, not even an NFC Championship game. Only 2 playoff victories. What more proof do you need?

My point is not about Dak. It is about fans who routinely put Romo above the team and come away defensive and have their feelings hurt if anyone doesn't agree.

Clove,

I'm not arguing today or debating today. It's Sunday im watching football and drinking mimosas. I'm a fan of the Cowboys Romo and Dak. I hope this isn't how it ends for Romo and that's how I feel. You'll get your chance to have him thrown out with the trash, but it's not happening yet JMO

Well I must say that is a 2-way street. The fans who attack Romo get just as defensive. Maybe if they weren't so critical the people defending Romo wouldn't get so "hurt". Being objective is a 2-way street. See above with the poster who called him a "loser". He was the first to be in the attack, as a Romo supporter how would you react? Nobody went in took a piss in his living room, yet he came in this thread and pissed all over it. Stop attacking and antagonizing and people won't get so defensive.
