Well I must say that is a 2-way street. The fans who attack Romo get just as defensive. Maybe if they weren't so critical the people defending Romo wouldn't get so "hurt". Being objective is a 2-way street. See above with the poster who called him a "loser". He was the first to be in the attack, as a Romo supporter how would you react? Nobody went in took a piss in his living room, yet he came in this thread and pissed all over it. Stop attacking and antagonizing and people won't get so defensive.

You make this thread worth every word i typed.

TwoD3 not entirely sure what the point you were trying to make was. I agree these threads are an acquired taste, but some people are so hell bent on throwing Romo out for a bag of chips. I understand we got the young kid here and that is exciting. However Romo is a great QB and has been one for the better part of the decade. You know as well as I do that the media did paint a very false picture of Romo and even some of our fans bought into that. So I believe Romo will be needed this year and it's doubtful they go back to the kid this year if that happens. So there is nothing wrong in believing in a guy who has made this team relevant when it had no business being relevant.

Happy Sunday

Romo is worth way more than a bag of chips. Im thinking a 1st round pick, minimum. Thats going to be really valuable to building a quality team around Prescott going forward.

You'll never get it if you bet on Romo. 10 years, not even an NFC Championship game. Only 2 playoff victories. What more proof do you need?
Yeah, but in only one of those seasons did anyone consider the team a legitimate SB contender, and that occurred in a year where the team that beat a Romo led team also beat in the SB the only 18-0 team ever and the odds on favorite to win it. It's a team game. If you haven't noticed, the keyword here is team.

Tony Romo is a very good quarterback, not a great quarterback, great quarterbacks are either in the Hall of Fame, or will be there in the future. I don't think anyone here thinks Tony is a Hall of Fame quarterback, at least not at this point in his career. As for him eventually taking over the quarterback position, and never relinquishing it, well that remains to be seen, he first must play well enough, he then must stay healthy if he returns to the line up.

Tony is a HOF caliber QB. No question in my mind, or the mind of many others.

The media is another story, but they're stupid.

Surely you are joking? Has there ever been a HOF qb with only two playoff wins?

If he was a HOF QB, he would surely be able to carry this team past 2 playoff victories.

As someone just said, surely you are joking, we as cowboy fans appreciate what Tony has given to the team. But rest assured he not a Hall of Fame quarterback. Obviously your criteria for the Hall of Fame is very different than that of the majority of us.

I have no idea what your criteria is. Mine is his play. No idea what you mean with, "As someone just said..."

You're one of those "QBs win, not teams" people aren't you?

Everyone knows this season is headed for a storybook ending. Dak drives this team victorious up to the end of December as 1st seed in the NFC however late in the 4th quarter of the last game of the season he is hit low in the knee by an Eagles DE and later after MRI pronounced out for the season. All hope is lost. BUT WAIT.
Romo laces up the cleats and takes our Boys through the playoffs to a Super Bowl win against the hated Pats. After holding the MVP and SB trophy announces his retirement.
Oh ya, the following season Dak, fully recovered, takes the Boys right back to the SB for back to back SB victories.

Video is awesome. Doesn't change my opinions of Romo as a starter, but I do appreciate the type of person and teammate he has been for the Cowboys. I don't regret anything about his tenure here, neither the good nor bad (nature of sports) and I'm even ok with him taking the Custer's last stand route, to try and take this team to the Superbowl. Do I think it's a good idea? No, but he has my support. Let's be real though, people talk about Romo not having the right guys around him, but I also believe Romo's lack of natural leadership in his early years combined with his 'okey-dokey' goofball attitude negatively impacted team performance also. He didn't command excellence from the guys around him in the manner that a Troy Aikman or Peyton Manning does. Naturally the team's personality is a direct reflection of the leadership on that team, and it's possible that the rest of the team who was "always letting Romo down" as some so adamantly put it, were in-fact just mimicking their quarterback in regards to being prepared and taking the game seriously as they should. My .02 from the current perspective I hold, a perspective which is continually evolving.

Now, go on and tell me this is another "low IQ post" since that appears to be the manner in which people wish to try and invalidate the legitimacy of someone's opinion around here.

Romo will never make the HOF, because of the QB's that have played in his era, Brady, Peyton, Eli, Rogers, Roethlisberger, and Brees....you really think Romo is going to get in ahead of any of those? No way.
