Tony Romo thoughts

If youre gonna call for his job then in a month praise him its un-intelligent. Point out his errors, whatever, but call for his job? I would love to go to jucks work or 2233boys job and see how good they perform there. I bet they dont perform at romos level, yet they call for his job, like if they do any better in their lives.... Epitamy of hypocrisy if you ask me.

I never called for Romo's job, not even once.

There is just no logic in judging every single position on the football field by whether the team wins or loses. You have to evaluate them individually or you'd be cleaning house every single year.

The easiest way to evaluate whether a position plays well is to watch them and look at the stats. Anyone with eyes and a stat sheet can see Romo is playing at an amazing level.

And has been for the most part since 2006. What kills me the most are those that say the stats don't matter and to call them when Tony wins a SB. OK we'll call you.:lmao2:

I mean, what more do you want until the guy wins a SB to give him some credit?

I can place River's and Romo's "measurables" side by side.....stats, wins and talent around them. And you know what? You couldn't honestly choose one over the other. Yet Romo is crucified over and over and over again.

What are you talking about? Are you even a fan? You don't like Romo because of how his fans defend him????????

I'm assuming part of the issue you have with these empty-headed fans is that they use stats (facts) to prove why he's a great QB.

What would you prefer they make reference to on this website?
Wins?

You act like I'm judging the guy over a couple of years. If you go back and read my posts from the earlier years, I was probably the first to say, "put Romo in, he has something" when guys were calling me idiot. But after a few years, I just came to the conclusion that unless he's surrounded by a DREAM TEAM, and a first-rate coaching staff, he probably doesn't have the core wherewithal to make it happen. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it. I'm usually right about these things.

What things are those?

I'm not going to get into this subject the day before we have an important game, it's just bad karma.

A lot of Cowboys fans were saying that. If you give Tony Romo a defense and offensive line, then he'll take the Cowboys deeper into the playoffs. Clearly, many didn't think Romo could do it by himself. Maybe he "pressed" more in his early years.

Be that as it may, right now, what's ailing the Cowboys isn't Romo. It's the defense.

Romo is the least of the Cowboys' worry. Rob Ryan better worry about not letting the fast Eagles offense run open on his defense.

The offense was a BIG problem in the first game too. Man, we have a short memory.

It is, but you think what you want.

Actually, on the Romo topic, I went back and checked. You're right. You completely freaked out after the DET game, but that was understandable. Otherwise, you've been pretty fair with Tony.

Romo is the equivalent to the NFL combine workout warrior. The workout warrior comes in, impresses with all the physical stats & performances, blows all tests out of the water, then skyrockets through draft boards, and is picked 4 rounds too high. He hits the grind of the real NFL and fades into Mike Tyson's "Bolivia".
Romo has always compiled stats but what does that show? Other than one 13-3 year where the team had virtually zero injuries, the Romo lead Cowboys have hovered around the .500 mark. Every year you hear, Romo makes the OLine better with his mobility, Romo makes the WR's better with his improvisation, Romo makes so and so better...Really?
Now you hear if Romo had these players around him he'd take them to a SB. You surround any NFL QB with a good OL, RB, & Defense and you get wins. Ask Tim Tebow.

Dude you have no idea what you're talking about. The Cowboys have been a playoff team or in playoff contention every year in the Tony Romo era except last year when he was injured.
