Romo had a great game, but the sack was obviously on him, he did not recognize that Ronde was coming on the blitz. Anyone else notice that when Romo celebrates w/the OL, it is usually w/Flo, Columbo or Kosier? Gurode & Bigg seem a bit indifferent. Bigg actually looks like he wants nothing to do w/Romo.

Obviously... from what we learned on hard knocks last season...

is that quick 30 second clips are clear indication of a players ability and theirr relationships.

Look how accurate Mary B turned out on Hard Knocks... a doofus with no talent and someone who doesnt care about football.

you do know its the defenses job to disguise blitzers dont you...

LOL. I will try this again. The QB is the guy who points out the blitzers on offense, if he doesn't change the protection to account for potential blitzers, it is on the QB. Sometimes, the center may spot a blitzer, sometimes a RB may do it too, but it is the QB who has the best vantage point to survey the opposing defense and call blitz pro. Even if the blitz does not come.

Maybe Hos should do his next Football 101 on this subject.

I'm not so sure that sack was on Romo. On the game video, you could clearly see Romo pointing at Ronde Barber before the snap, causing Barber to back off a bit. Then Barber comes in on the blitz anyway, and Martellus (who was in blocking on the play) helps block the DE with Columbo instead of picking up the blitzer.

I think it's more on Martellus than Romo.

Actually, just before the snap Ronde appears that he's going to blitz and Romo points and yells at him. Martellus just failed to pick up the blitz at all.

That's exactly what happened.

Awsome, he is becoming that leader that many say he'll never be, he will be our SB winning QB someday, take that to the bank.

Sarcasm aside, you do understand that it is the QB's responsibility to call out the potential blitzers, Romo obviously read the blitz incorrectly. He identified another player (safety I believe) who "came" instead of the one who actually did (Ronde Barber).

Did you watch the vid?

Why would you call out the blitz on a playaction? Doesn't that defeat the purpose?

I don't understand that the play was on him, there was NOTHING he could have done there.

You are right although having TO in the huddle makes it that much harder to lead a team when all his doing is complaining about not getting the ball enough.

I'm sure he was. He's always been this way, I think.

Winning breeds leadership and chemistry and all those nice, nebulous concepts.

If we lose the game, one of these videos would be trounced as Romo joking too much.

On the first play of the game, Ronde Barber stopped Marion in the backfield for a loss while coming on a blitz (due to a blown block by Deon Anderson).

Besides, he did point out the right blitzer.

I'm just going off THIS vid where Tony comes to the sidelines and is corrected as to who was the blitzer. If Bennett was in the wrong then I guess he lied on his tweet. I am not a Romo hater by the way, I was just commenting on the dialog in THIS vid.

What did Bennett say on his tweet. I check out his twitter page and the only thing I remember him saying was in reference to him not being in position.

I thought he was referring to when Romo had to call a timeout...and they were saying he was out of position.

Actually, at about the two minute mark, you can hear Bigg asking Tony to tell him about the rabbits.

They're telling him who actually came. I can see how he wouldn't know who actually hit him since it happened so quickly.

But that has absolutely nothing to do with whether he pointed out the potential blitzer before the snap. In fact, if you're just going off the video posted in this thread, I don't see how you could really comment on whether he pointed him out or not, since it doesn't show much of the pre-snap video.

And then the ensuing play, you can see Bennett doubling the DE and letting Ronde through. Bennett didn't know Ronde was coming, it's possible he never heard Romo.
