Desire has always been his issue.

I wouldn't cut an OL to sign him.

I'd have no problem Leon, Gronk, or Church to take a look at him though.

Like Flo`s desire in the past.

The word going around is that the guy doesnt really like playing football, he just does it because he could make a ton of cash.

Not really the type of player I want hanging around the lockerroom, so I think I take a pass. As others have noted, if Polian thinks this guy is a stiff and is a lost cause.......I will take his word for it.

serious that injury is. If it's a one year type of injury, I'd sign him cheap for 3 years and stick him in the IR. Lose this year, possibly next year because of labor issues, but he'd be sufficiently healthy by 2012. In other words, do the same thing we did with Columbo.

Having said that, and I know this is a bit contradictory because I'm all for developing young guys, but if I'm Jerrah, I'm sniffing around San Diego right now to see if they'd be interested in trading Marcus McNeill. I know they don't care about Vincent Jackson and closed the door on him back in January ( according to reports ), and that it's not the same with McNeill, but Marcus is determined to sit out the year, especially after SD lower the original tender, and since there's going to be a new CBA either in 2011 or 2012, it's not going to matter wether he reports the final 6 games of the season this year to accrue service time, or not.

As a matter of fact, I would NOT be opposed to offer them a #1 draft choice for him ( although I don't think that's going to be enough ). He's 27 years old, just about to enter his prime and a legit Pro Bowler at LT.

On a sidebar here, on the San Diego issues:
That team has had a bushel full of contract issues and players holding out and not playing all over that team. I am very glad with the hold that Jerry and Stephen have had on the player contracts. The latest signing of Miles Austin to a strong extension only goes to eliminate those issues from prominence on the team. Remember TO, then Greg Ellis, and latest being Patrick Crayton? I like the proactive Jerry with paying his players and keeping the ship manageable for team benefits! That's being a great GM.:starspin

So he has value to the Colts and that's why they cut him?

I am going back to earth. Peace.

Let's take a quick look at 'guru' country and the number of unsettling sacks and hits upon Manning this off season. Did someone say injuries there and a problem with depth?

That doesn't skate and the situation in Dallas not. There are only THREE starters from last year's team missing for the start of this season's first game. That is what we are talking about in reality. Not the essence involved with their head of the offensive line. The Cowboys' is the very empowered Houck. I think he develops linemen well. That is the reality and grounded reference...

Ugoh is not better than Barron.

We don't know that from the abstracts...both aren't starters at present. Barron IS on a roster with Dallas. Ugoh was injured in Indianapolis and they need immediate solutions.:starspin

if its true he does not have real passion to play then we do not want him. Colombo loves to play and that is why he was willing to work so hard to come back from that injury; one forgets that his first doctor screwed up and misdiagnosed it; so he was not correctly rehabing; that is why it took so long and why the bears gave up on him.

well who would you rather have on the pup list

Hodge - who will never see a down

Ugoh - who might better than Barron - possibly move him to RT
You may want to actually look up who can be placed on the PUP list then.

I would hope the Cowboys are not closing the door on churning the roster. Ugoh has done a decent job with the colts and while he is still young has ample game experience.

We sure about that? I don't know myself, just wondering why you seem sure of that.

The Colts are a pretty good organization, the OL coach they had for years was also one of the better one's. They decided pretty fast that the guy couldnt play and replaced him with a relative unknown.

That doesn't necessarily equate to him being better or worse than Barron though, is what I mean. For all we know Barron would have faced the same fate in Indy.

Indianapolis Colts OT Tony Ugoh (toe) cleared waivers and has been placed on Injured Reserve, ending his 2010 season, according to Adam Caplan, of FOXSports.com.
I'm a little confused here. He was placed on IR after getting cut and clearing waivers? I assume this was because they wanted to sign him to a cheaper contract?

Gotta love all the people that jumped to the conclusion that he must suck, not even realizing that the guy was hurt.

Since when is Bill Polian a god? That team is 7-9 without Peyton Manning.

Put Peyton on the Falcons and they'll be 12-4 year in and year out.

Polian is overrated.

Pick Ugoh up and take a chance. What do you lose?

So am I.

I'm familiar with young players reverting to a team's injured reserve list if they clear waivers, but I thought it was only first or second year players.

We had to wait until the initial cut down day during training camp before moving TE John Phillips to IR because we would have had to waive him injured to get him there prior to that.

But I didn't think that would apply to Tony Ugoh.

And why did the Colts waive him injured instead of simply moving him to IR?

Were they hoping a team would claim Ugoh and take his contract?
