Before everyone starts making fun of Jerry for asking Romo what he'd look for in a QB, realize that drafting a QB is just a total crapshoot even if you draft one high. That includes those drafted by GMs who people have high opinions of.

So, if Romo can help, I sure as hell hope Jerry is talking to him.

I would never make fun of him. At least he's asking a QB. I remember the days of Quincy and Chad. Jerry needs to get the help of anyone he can.

You have to admit we have been a pretty good roll the last few years. Our roster looks pretty darn good now. Jerry winning Executive Of The Year award had to really chap haters like yourself didn't it?

Not really, Jerry is still a dunce. He's doing great this year. This "pretty darn good" roster is 2-5.

What the article doesn't explain is that Romo is a true student of the position. He has watched endless hours trying to incorporate techniques, footwork, throwing motions, from the greats of the past and from current players like Rodgers, Manning, Brady.

You don't go from an undrafted FA rookie, to a talented gunslinger, to a true MVP caliber QB without study. He's a completely different QB from what he was early on. That's why the narrative of him being a choker and a gunslinger is old news. He's not that guy anymore. He reinvented his game through study.

I don't know if Romo can help find the next QB, but I'm pretty sure he's worth asking. He's not the type of guy who just skated through the NFL on ability alone. The dude had to figure it out.

Romo will be the offensive coordinator here one day in the not-to-distant future.

Book it.

I don't doubt he could, but I question why he would. He sure won't need the paycheck and I don't see Tony wanting to put in the 100 hour weeks that the position would require. The only possible reason I could see him doing it would be for the pure love of the game and not wanting to leave it.

He and Garrett are good friends. I could see him being more likely to do it if Garrett is still around.

That is a fair point. Has anyone ever gone directly from player-to-coordinator? I don't recall anybody having done that, but I wouldn't bet against him being able to.
