No it's not. This is a fan message board, not valley ranch property. Our fans are excited!

Washington, IMO is the most dangerous team to us in the division. The best running game and the best QB of the 3 other teams. As RGII gets healthier they will win more. I think they end up 8-8 at worst

Take a look at their remaining schedule upthread. It's brutal. They will be lucky to finish better than 6-10

I had the Cowboys losing to Green Bay earlier, however, given the state of the Packers injuries I am moving it to a "pick-em".

With the Cowboys recent history until they actually clinch it is beyond too early. Despite that i'm sure at some point this week we'll have a post about how we're about to go on a tear and win 7 in a row.

I think this is very true. The team can afford 3, maybe 4 more losses. I think so long as we go 10-6 and win at least 1 more division game we are in. To do that we need health and continued commitment. Right now I am liking it, but I hope the team is focused for Detroit. A bad loss could knock us off ship. I want to see some confidence.

NO, not for us, the team/players absolutely too early. Jason will keep them grounded-I hope. Jerry on the other hand will probably buy Super Bowl tickets.
I just feel that unless we completely implode that this division is ours. I know it is a long season and anything can happen though. The question would be if we did make the playoffs which team would be play in the first round? If the playoffs started today it would be SF. It's possible SF ends up with a better record over Seattle and Seattle comes here. It looks like the most likely scenario looking at the schedules etc is that it would be either San Fran or Seattle coming here.

As fans, its never to early to talk about anything. We are not playing, I do not think that whether or not I am "focused" on the Lions will matter much come Sunday. I am pulling for SF to win that Division, no one, and I mean NO ONE wants to go to Seattle for a playoff game.

7 games into a 16 game season.

Just...wow.

We never learn.

As they say though; it is a free country.

Yeah I mean 7 games that's like pretty close to half the season. No way FANS should start talking about the playoffs.

Keep in mind, Washington is only 1 game back in the loss column.

But they haven't played Denver, SD and KC yet. That should account for at least two more losses from the common opponents.

As fans, it's never too early. Heck, the Deadskins fans talk about Super Bowl in April after the draft and free agency.

Considering this team's recent history, it is much too early. I see no way that they have a legit shot at a Super Bowl, so it really doesn't matter to me.

We can pretty much talk about anything at this point. The team of course not.

The goal at the start of every season should be to win the division.
Until that task is complete that should be the focus.

We are half way home with a 3-0 divisional record.
Crazy to be in this situation but at 4-3 we already control our own destiny and just need to play week to week with a focus on eating up the NFCE foes.

As Baltimore showed last year you can tweak things in season and get hot then win it all.
You do not need to be the best team all year, just the best team come each game in the playoffs.

I guess that is a long way of saying playoffs talk is largely semantics.
The coach speak stuff is very true:
1. Worry about the things you can control.
2. Focus on getting better every day.
3. Care only about the next game.
4. Win the division and everything takes care of itself.

But the reason those cliche's do work is they add up to playoff attendance and often success.

Why not? Yes, the team hasn't played well in all three phases at the same time. But each has looked dominant at different times this year so we know they're capable. So who is to say this team can't put it all together at some point? Give me our offense against Denver, our defense against Philadelphia and our special teams against Washington and I'll take our chances against anyone.

Yes, if the stars align t it is possible. It just doesn't seem very likely. What would be really interesting is if we get Seattle at home the first week of the playoffs (very possible if we win the division) and we beat them. Talk about the story lines if that happened! Romo gets revenge against Seahawks, Cowboys knock off the best team in the NFC, etc. The momentum from that could be HUGE. No telling where it could take our team. Ok, I'm day dreaming a little bit now....

This team has had problems putting strings of wins together. Big problems. There is just no consistency from week to week in any area of the team. I have seem teams make runs at the right time, but this team has never shown that capability. Just getting in the playoffs with a quick exit doesn't do much for me.

Yup, I can't deny any of that either. They haven't had a deep run in 18 years.... so it is more of a "see it to believe it" situation.
