I wish we would have take DE/OLB Brian Robison in the 4th round instead of Isiah.....

I am not convinced Ellis will be able to come back from his injury and that cuts into our depth. Robison is a beast up in Minnesota camp right now. He was the one guy I wanted out of everyone, even Aaron Ross. Robison is a football player. He hustles, he busts his butt, he is always around the ball....simply put, he makes plays. Also, he is an excellent character guy.

Isiah has been hurt since we got him. I am not saying he wont do good things for us, but he is going to be way down on the WR list.....Robison would have at least been the backup for Spencer or Ware.

I hope Isiah can get on the field and do some things.....I hope he turns out better then Skylar Green. One thing for sure is, he is a better a better football player than Skylar. He can play WR, RB, QB, and KR.....That makes him very valuable.

Still, I wish Robison was donning a Blue Star instead of a white horn

So what you're saying is that

Hatcher, Ratliff, Burnett, and Carpenter, are not good enough to play DE or LB?

all of our OLB's/DE's expected to make the current roster >>> Robison

and that doesnt even count Carpenter and Burnett, each of whom can also play OLB and each of whom are more talented than Robison

I was very high on Robison too. I thought he would be great at that spot that Spencer/Ellis play.

Im not a Texas fan either I just watched him play a lot.

By no means though am I ready to start talking down on our 4th round pick and i'll wait and see how it plays out before I bash on the pick.

no, i think he's saying he found a scenario where his dream player could have helped us at a certain position in a certain point of time and he's waxing nostalgic that it could ever be.

I liked him too, but it's way too early to evaulate anything.

I really hope our current crew of LB's is enough for awhile.

you have no clue if they are greater than Robison or not...that is merely opinion.

Ellis was in the plans for this season, so if he is gone, we are missing a piece......had we gotten Robison (we would have a piece to put in Ellis' place). of course it is very difficult to replace Ellis, who is very underrated, even by Cowboys fans, but at least Robison would have been a very solid and capable addition.

I just hope Robison doesn't kill us when we play the Vikings this year.

So you're saying, that if Ellis doesn't play, that there isn't a player on our roster that could have been better than a 4th round pick?

not a second round pick, not a first round pick, but a 4th round pick?

And the last time i checked Minnsota runs a 4-3. Who says that he makes the succesful transition to OLB? Spencer already is having a hard time, and he's a first round pick.

Try using your brain, before you start fawning over your draft favorites.

he played DE and OLB at UT. I watched the games. I saw the guy play. Not only was he a beast on the field, but he was also a beast at the combine. The only reason he dropped to the 4th round was because he has had some injuries during his playing days.....however, he played through most of them.

What has Burnett shown, NADA...of course he hasn't had much of a chance, but still, he hasn't done much. Carpenter hasn't done anything accept in the Seattle game. Spencer is a rookie, just like Robison. Spencer has even less experience at OLB than Robison. Yet he is being asked to make the transition. So don't act like we have proven commodities already. Robison would have merely been another viable option.....and a very good option at that.

Uh huh, so a team thats stacked at OLB, needs another viable option? A team that can't even find a spot for a first rounder needs another viable option?

Or are you just trying to find a reason to say "we should have drafted this guy's jock that i'm riding"

dude u dont have to agree with me, that is fine...but why the immature insults? does it make you feel like more of a man to try and belittle others.

i wanted Brian Robison. I feel he could have been an excellent addition to this team. I feel he could have done great things for this team. And yes, I feel he would have made a bigger impact than Isiah. I said it....and I am sticking to it. You can disagree all you want and that is fine. It is your right and none of us are never going to 100% agree on anything, except maybe our hatred for the Racial Slurs.

What could have been......
OLB - Ellis, Ware, Spencer, Robison
ILB - James, Ayodele, Carpenter, Burnett

I feel this would have been a dominant LB group.

I am pretty sure the Ellis situation is playing out exactly as the Cowboys thought it would. No one could count on a 32 year old coming back from the Achilles rupture this year, so they went and got the best DE/OLB available. They were looking ahead and so far have been proven correct.

Carpenter may be the starting OLB early if Ellis can't play. Spencer is not going to be the end all that some think he will be. He will take time to make the adjustment to LB. We will see him on third down and in the nickel, and Carp will move inside to confuse the offense.

Maybe by the end of the year, or if an injury occurs, Spencer will be starting. Just like Carp it is going to take him a while, though.

Jerruh and Stephen are not going to count on a 4th round pick to fill the hole Ellis' injury will leave.

If we would have drafted him, Glymph would have to go. Me I'll take Stanbeck and Glymph over some guy who fell to the 4th round.

what does him being a 4th round pick have to do with anything? it doesnt matter where u are picked. if you can play, you can play. Maybe, dropping to the 4th, will add an extra chip on the guys shoulder.

hell look at all the high draft picks we have had over the last decade that didnt do crap. All those DEs we took that we would have to pay some other team to take.

are we defending a 4th round pick by saying we get him and a spare lb vs. just some 4th round pick?

i thought my arguments got odd.
