whether pass or run,..I hate this McCarthy offense ... period !

- you look at the Niners run scheme and its designed for traps, and seals.
it's designed for cutbacks and off tackle runs. .. and they don't have big monster pound backs.

- Ditto with Miami Dolphins with RBs Anchane and Mostert ... not big bulking bell cows but built off
speed backs and trap-pulling blocking lanes.

- The RBs are miscast for this kind of run block scheme - and frankly there is very little movement in the OL.
4th and one ... .and no surge on the QB sneak.

Yes. I was so disappointed that Pollard didn't hit those holes that the offensive line was creating.

A bigger back may be able to withstand the pounding but he only picks up maybe an additional yard behind the blocking that Pollard has had to run behind.

The offensive line really needs to step it up.

I disagree with that. You got the numbers?
Do you have the numbers that show otherwise? I'm going off what struck me as a fan watching games just like you are.

But I do have a video of him from last year. Watch this and tell me what you think.

Not exactly thye same but I know what you mean.

But here's the problem...zeke did that dirty work...and Pollard took advantage...each filling their own role. Now it seems we are asking TP to do both?
I guess so, so maybe someone needs to have that zeke role so he can come in as he did. Problem is, you're not paying him 10 million to come in for a few plays

Any success he had up the middle was after Zeke wore them down.
That's just not true. Pollard didn't just play late in games last year, he was mixed in throughout, and played a few games without Elliot at all.

Is pollard a running back or what? He needs to be able to do running back things.
He's like an Ekeler. Not going to get you any tough yards up the middle. Most of his production will be in the pass game and making guys miss down the field. He's not a traditional type RB. Never has been.

Almost had a stroke watching that garbage. Kids were scared I was yelling so much. What kind trash play calling was that? Pollard needs ball outside and in space. STOP running him up middle OVER AND OVER

Give dowdle and luepke the fn ball up the middle. If you don’t want play dowdle get another running back in here!!!! High school teams have a better run scheme and plays compared to whet we are seeing!!!!!! FIX IT
Do we not have outside runs in our playbook?
It's insane!!!!!!!

I don't get the running game and what McCarthy is doing at all. Makes NO sense. Running Pollard into a brick wall time and time again is pure garbage. Watching a incompletion on first down means it will be 3rd and 7 or 8 consistently. I hate it. Absolutely no imagination or creativity in the running game or play calling. Playing not to lose is not a playoff winning strategy.

It is very true.
Watch the video below and you will see quite a few 1st quarter, 2nd quarter and early 3rd quarter runs up the middle with great success.

And it's just plain wrong to act as if Pollard was only used as a change of pace later in games after the defense was worn down. You could have made that case in 2021 and before, but not in 2022.

In 2022 Zeke only had 38 more carries than Pollard did

its the line not able to sustain blocks. pollard will be fine but its a mix of poor line play and the fact we need a bigger rb there. I think we do something via trade during the bye.
