They weren't, Rowdy. I know you're desperately searching for something to make it appear this team is on the cusp, but the Colts were not contenders when Manning went down. Which is why the team and Manning decided to part ways. Manning wanted to win now. The Colts wanted to rebuild with a new QB. Neither of those decisions are made if they are true Super Bowl contenders.

But again, enjoy telling people this 4-12 team is a contender. Just please do it in the confines of this fan base. I don't want any embarrassment by association.

Ok. Thanks Swoop!!

What were you saying about us at the beginning of this year?

My opinion is a true Super Bowl contender doesn't become a contender for the 1st overall pick in the draft with the loss of their QB and their WR and that this thread would be laughed at outside of this fan base.

If anybody had predicted a 12-4 season and us being arguably the best team in the NFL in 2014 that would have been laughed at too.

But let's do the same thing we did that that offseason. Point and laugh at any positivity. And then if we do have a successful season the same people can explain to us why we're winning. Good times!

Eight years ago. Casell was better. Their division was terrible and they have possibly the best coach of all time.
Not doubt our staff was exposed. Hopefully they learn.

To be fair, the Patriots went 11-5 in 2008, and didn't make the playoffs. Both the Jets and the Dolphins went 11-5, but had better conference records. The AFC East was a good division that year.

You didn't expect him to actually know that, did you?

Sounded good though. Division was terrible.

Patriots 8/1
Seahawks 8/1
Steelers 8/1
Cardinals 10/1
Packers 10/1
Bengals 12/1
Panthers 12/1
Cowboys 14/1
Broncos 20/1
Chiefs 20/1

make your bets now and get the 14/1 odds.
I think dallas was 14/1 last year too at one early point.

Notice that the top 4 nfc teams are above the cowboys.
And you might have to include minnesota, and one other team in the mix too.
All that really says is dallas is projected to be a playoff team, which is about
all you should expect.

I stand corrected the division was good.

That we would be watching the playoffs after a charmed 2014.

Surprising. You knew more than almost everyone who watches football. You're very impressive. Do you ever pick "our team" to do well?

What's your predication for next year?

I apologize for being right while you were wrong.

I'll wait to see what the actual team looks like before predicting next year but I'll make sure you know about it.

In the meantime, Go Cowboys.

Your post in this thread is laughed by most of this fanbase. Other fan bases would love to see we have fans that think that negatively. They'd laugh Hard at us. Likely calling us a bunch of gentle cats. Or whatever

Are the patriots true contenders? What if they lost Brady and Gronk? What if the Panthers lost Cam?

Dude are you serious?

You don't seriously believe this team is a super bowl contending team. Do you?

That's ok. I would've been right if not for the injuries.

I'll save you the time and research. After free agency, the draft, and our guys back healthy we are a Super Bowl contender. :flagwave:

I don't need your opinion. If the team does well, you were right. If they don't, you were wrong. It's predictable and worthless to me.

I imagine you in front of the mirror raising your hand in victory.

Tell me again how a 4-12 team might have won the Super Bowl if not for some injuries.

You're spying on me? That will make you smarter. Great work !

I've tried to be somewhat optimistic about the team throughout the season but it's been really hard, no doubt. We have top of the line front row talent at many positions. This year revealed that we have very little viable depth at ANY position. That's a problem.

One thing that does give me hope is that we weren't really manhandled in any game sans the Patriots game. I wouldn't really count the Washington game to end the year. By that point the season had worn on the players and coaches and the game itself was merely a formality. The fact that the team lost a majority of those games by a mere score without Romo or Dez does lend oneself to the hope that those players are the difference makers in those games.

I don't think Dallas replicates the 12-4 or the 4-12 season next year. I also don't think that they replicate 8-8. I think they land somewhere between 9-7 and 11-5. That's good enough to win this horrid division and if you're playing your best football at the end of the year it's a good shot to make a run at the dance.

None of this will happen if they don't shore up the depth at WR and QB (specifically) this off-season, however. Which makes this off-season one of the most anticipated in a long time, for me. Lots to be done in FA and the draft. It will be interesting to watch, for sure.
