Yep, and what happens if the Eagles lose Hurts in camp/preseason/early in the season? His running covers a "multidude of sins" for them. Same if the Chiefs lose Mahomes, and others. Teams will drastically fall. How many teams were licking their chops in 2016 when Romo was lost? But Cowboys ended up 13-3.

Should just about totally ignore last season's records....
Injuries can change everything especially to your QB. However, San Francisco wasn’t hurt when they lost their QB, if anything they were helped because of the play of Brock Purdy. But you don’t see that very often.

Dallas and Eagles basically play the same teams, the two that are different are pretty much the same level. Even the Giants have a tough schedule. I am sure Washington's isn't too far behind. What it means is that it is going to be harder for the Eagles, Skins or Giants to claim the wild card spot behind the division winning Cowboys.

I think what really helped was that losing Garoppolo reminded Shanahan to lean on the run game and the defense both of which were top shelf for the 49ers. When he had Jimmy G they had more of a tendency to get fancy. They ran for 120 yards or less in 5 of their first 8 games. They failed to hit 120 on the ground only once in the last 9 games. They protected the kid. He performed admirably, but call it what it is. The Cowboys did the same with Dak in 2016 and the Seahawks did it with Russ in 2013. And going back a little further the Steelers did it with Ruthlessraper in 2004. The Jets did it with Sanchez. It's a tried and true formula that you can win with if you have to start a rookie QB. Run the ball, play defense, don't ask the rookie QB to do too much. Usually rookie QBs who get asked to do too much either get hurt or lose a ton of games (and confidence.) We will find out if Mr. Purdy is for real when they start leaning on him a little more.

Eh, this is mostly just from the Cowboys and Eagles playing each other and Buffalo.

The Cowboys have a tougher schedule than previous years, but not by a ton.
Add to the mix other 2022 playoff teams for both PHL and DAL- AFC East Miami, plus NFC West San Francisco and Seattle.

NFC West "stinks"....Cowboys lost one team in that division the last two postseasons.

Ok but the division as a whole stinks.

It's not like the 9ers are even that good, it's just that what they do well is what Dallas struggles with.

Which equates to that team being the roadblock to the Cowboys not going on a deep postseason run the last two years.

However, their QB situation currently is looking very murky - Purdy injury recovery+ Nance's injury on top of his slow progress.
Forty-niners might not be a factor in 2023.

I truly believe Cowboys schedule will be harder than the Eagles schedule based upon potential of other teams being better or worse.
However it will also include how the schedules are laid out.

You can be assured the Eagles will have more home games to finish the season, as the Cowboys always have more away than home games to finish, and usually pretty lopsided.

Going back to 2000 Dallas never finished with two home games. And finished with two away games many times, Also close to 3/4 of the times finished with 2 of 3 on the road. I think they finished at home 8 times in 23 years.

And yes I looked it up last summer. Maybe I will do it again to be sure.

They always do that to us, I bet just watch when the schedule comes out and look at the last 3 games, more times than not we will have at least 2 away games and most of the times vice versa for the other team.

Where was the hardest schedule for the Patriots the 15+ years Brady was their QB, or how about when Rodgers was with the Packers, or for the 49ers, etc?

We have a harder schedule than Philly…for two of the three different games…based nfl.com post draft rankings.

We have
Detroit. 11
@Carolina. 25
@LAChargers. 13

They have
@KC 1
Min. 16
TB. 29

The Cowboys schedule is tougher than the Eagles schedule by virtue of Philly getting Buffalo, San Francisco, and Miami at home while Dallas gets all three on the road.

We make the playoffs a lot more when we have a soft schedule 14 16 2022 just off the top of my head. We definitely have a tougher schedule then we have had for years.

It’s a tough schedule mostly because the NFC East all had good records

Won't know the schedule strength until the season's over.
