Just for fun, list (in your opinion) the Top 5 players on our offense and defense - 1 being the best 5 being the 5th best. You can explain your choices if you wish.
Mine:
Offense
1. Tony Romo, QB
2. Dez Bryant, WR
3. Jason Witten, TE
4. Miles Austin, WR
5. Tyron Smith, LT
For me, the offensive rankings were pretty easy. I almost put Murray on the list but he wasn't on the field enough for me to slide him ahead of Tyron, who was our best lineman as a rookie. Not sure if that says more about him or more about how terrible our line was/is... probably a little of both.
Defense
1. DeMarcus Ware, OLB
2. Sean Lee, ILB
3. Jay Ratliff, NT
4. Brandon Carr, CB
5. Sean Lissemore, DE
Defense was a bit harder. After Ware and Lee, Ratliff was the only obvious choice even though I've been vocal about our scheme needing a more traditional NT. I couldn't put Claiborne on the list as a rookie, he hasn't played an NFL snap and Jenkins is all over the place from year to year in terms of consistency, so Carr stole his spot. Last year Sean Lee proved he needed more snaps and responded well, this year, Lissemore should be a starter.
