1 Ware....... Should have been the MVP last season.

2 Ratliff....... Low round draft choice that has made the most of his oppurtunity

3 Witten....... Arguably the best all around tight end in the game

4 Romo ........Playing well now but will December's frost bite again

5 O-Line....... Adams,Kosier,Gurode,Davis and Columbo have to stay healthy

Good points.

And I also concur with the posts regarding Adams. I think it's a shame that because of his penchant to false start he has become a punching bag of sorts for fans. He's had a heck of a career here, and he hasn't even really begun to wind down just yet.

There's some guys in this league who give him trouble (Trent Cole, maybe?), but he routinely shuts down so many of the top-tier pass rushers. Osi has never even sacked Romo, right?
Bold--> Guilty as charged.

His partial deafness is the primary reason for his false starts. Sometimes I feel that he could reduce the false starts by keeping the presnap ball within his peripheral vision. It would mean turning his head slightly inside, but he should be quick enough to snap his head back to the defender he's assigned to block when the ball is snapped. Then again, some defenders' pass rush may be too much for making that a practical adjustment for him.

Rank 'Em.

1. DeMarcus Ware - Best Active OLB.
2. Jason Witten - Best Active TE.
3. Tony Romo - Elite QB, future HoF'er if he continues this play for a few more years
4. Jay Ratliff - Beast, need I say more?
5. Miles Austin - I believe he has potential to be an elite WR in the NFL, maybe on the level of a Michael Irvin or a Bob Hayes, and he is starting to get there.

No Roy Williams? :(

Though alot of you are answering best in terms of skillset, I'll answer in terms of value to the productivity of our team.

If these guys go down we're screwed, in this order..

1. Tony Romo
2. Miles Austin
3. Any one of the 4 DB's Sensabaugh/Hamlin/Newman/Jenkins
4. Ware
5. Any one of our O-lineman.

Importance to team as my top 5:

Romo
Ware
Gurode
Witten
Sensabaugh

Talent wise would be:

Ware
Romo
Witten
J. Rat
Buehler (This guy is tops in the league at what he does and he's an assest in the coverage part of special teams. He probably leads all kickers in tackles too....flame away)

1. Demarcus Ware - Nothing needs to be said.
2. Jay Ratliff - Insatiable and almost unblockable.
3. Jason Witten - Complete player, yards should pick up with new WR threat.
4. Tony Romo - The same big plays, fewer bad ones, stock rising.
5. Kyle Kosier - Mr. Consistent on the offensive line makes everything click.

That's my top five in order, as well.

If we're going importance wise, Ratliff is top 3.

He's top 3 either way.

1. Ware-- so vital to our defensive scheme. Freakish talent
2. Romo-- athletic and smart. Growing into a mature winner
3. Ratliff-- elite NG. premier interior lineman and emotional leader.
4. Barber-- still the closer. still our spark plug. still our most complete back
5. Austin-- Sky's the limit for this kid. Most complete pass catcher on the team.
