i honestly do not remember some movies like Itatian Job (there's two versions ?) and French Connection car chase scenes ...because they were so loong ago and ancient.

and along with the previous movies mentioned, i'll need to re-see Driver and Mad Max Road Warrior ... and Beyond the Thunder Dome ...

i barely recall Steve McQueens' Bullitt

Clint Eastwood in the Gauntlet though that involved a bus.

I guess you could toss in the other famous Bus movie though technically that was not a chase...

I don't really get into car chase scenes, but the two that come to mind are Smokey and the Bandit and Vanishing Point.

Eagle Eye, because of the high speed damage.

Bourne Supremacy, because he was driving like his life actually depended on it.

Matrix Reloaded, because of the action.

Bad Boys 2, great non-wet road chase scene. In most movies they wet the roads, so cars can slide around better. Making it seem like the cars are going fast, but really they just doing like 40 mph. Wet roads also helps makes the driver look like he can really drive. In Baby Driver when he done that tailspin in the alley, they wet a patch of road to help the car slide. That made the audience think this guy can really drive.

Batman movies all have some good ones. In particular Batman Begins with the Hummer-version Batmobile freaking jumping roof to roof while he’s trying to evade police to save his girl from dying.

Generally, I think car chase scenes are too long. The movie becomes about the chase. I have seen car chase scenes in cities like NYC that go on for 10 minutes and anyone who has been there knows a chase cannot last more than a few blocks because there is likely to be some kind of traffic congestion, unless it is 4am. Also, every action movie has some kind of long chase scene. It is obligatory. If it is not cars it's boats or even helicopters, or cars boats, and helicopters!

A lot of my favs have already been mentioned. BMW commissioned a series of short films using their cars with Clive Owens as "The Driver", which became the inspiration for "The Transporter" movies. Whole technically not movies, they used big time directors, actors, musicians for these short films, a few minutes each. One of my favs was "Star" directed by Guy Ritchie starring Madonna and of course Clive Owens as "The Driver".

The Batman chase scene was amazing.

Great call ! ... and the Bat-Hummer car chase in Dark Knight that ended up capturing the Joker was indeed a classic , ... how could i have missed that one ?

And The Transporter chases was another that i somehow forgot too...
