Top remaining free agents

Still too rich for the Jones Boyz. We are ahead of the curve. We were talking to the 3rd wave guys while these other GMs were still wasting their time on the first wave. This is what winning franchises do and Jerry has perfected it and our results show his level of expertise. As soon as "best available" list is made up of players you pretend to know but you really don't or who used to be good but you really aren't sure if they still are, that's when the Cowboys do their work.

We need a list of the cheapest remaining free agents because that is where Jerry and Stephen are shopping. We don’t shop on Rodeo Drive or even the nice malls in the suburbs. We shop in the urban areas littered with thrift stores and pawn shops.

What baffles me is not the Cowboys avoiding signing big name FAs. What I will never understand is their foot-dragging on signing their own they already know they want.

They could have (should have) already signed Parsons months ago and saved cap space. In the NFL, waiting is losing. For once couldn’t they be proactive and get things done ahead of deadlines?

Jerry famously says (foolishly IMO) that “deadlines make deals”. That may be true in business but in football being ahead of deadlines gives you a better chance of managing your cap better.

Apparently, they love overpaying their own guys, even ones who have offered a home team discount, while dumpster diving for players and coaches.

IDK....Eberflus has had a top-level MLBer for his defense as the Cowboys LBer coach, Colts's DC and Bears's HC. I doubt Kendrick has much of a serious market, so if they wanted to lock him and the starting position down, he would be signed IMO. Besides, he's a Zimm guy.......who interestingly had no use for Bell but Eberflus gives him a new deal.

Remember we as fans are used to the FO telegraphing their 1st round picks OR positional targets a bit. Lots of clues/signs are screaming MLBer. I was curious to see if they were going to sign one of the top free agents, they didn't ( interestingly as one nugget put it, the top 10 or so flew off the market). What did we do..........nothing. It's why I feel 100 confident in saying we will address the position with one of the top 3 draft picks.

They are going to sign a fa starter, could be Speed who played under him at Indy. They did also meet with several prospects at the position, but no one inside the 1st rd.

From what I have heard/read, Williams the DE from Georgia is becoming the target at 12. Report was Cowboys liked him and T-Mac and now Eberflus is at the Georgia pro day, hmm.
