Top ten Dallas cowboys is on NFL network

Harvey Martin is one of the Cowboys who never get the credit he deserves. Guy was a straight up beast in his prime, and since they didn't record sacks in his era, he is always forgotten about.

Harvey Martin is underrated by many indeed. He was a one man wrecking crew in 1977. He had 23 sacks and this was during a 14 game season. Unfortunately, they didn't record sacks back then otherwise Strahan would not have the record for sacks in one season. Harvey also had 85 tackles that year. Of course, he went on to share co-MVP of Super Bowl XII with Randy. He was also Defensive Player of the Year that year. I loved watching that guy attack. Much like Haley, he had a mean streak in him and was fearless. Played with attitude.

Played with attitude. That is so right, and as much as I love watching Ware play, and as great as he is, IMO, he just does not have that "attitude" factor. I almost puked when I watch Ware sack Vick then help him up to see if he was OK!!

Agreed. I remember Harvey sacking someone (can't remember who it was) once and he put his foot on his face mask like he was going to crush his head into the grass. Never did it of course, but it sure sent a mssage. Lot more team loyalty back then, but that is a whole 'nother story. Love Ware but a leader he's not... and frankly, this team has needed leaders for a very long time. Haley spoke - you listened - Harvey spoke - you listened. Ware....................hasn't spoken yet.

;)

Agreed - Harvey Martin's first step was as quick as anyone I have ever seen, except Dwight Freeney, who in his prime was SCARY quick. As for Irvin at #3...I love the guy, but when you have the NFL's all time rushing leader, you HAVE to put him ahead of Irvin. Either way, it's a good discussion to have.

I was not upset about Emmitt Smith's placement. Irvin was the straw that stirred the drink. His belly-flops at the two yard line set up a good quarter of Smith's TD runs.

That said, I would not put him at number three.
