It was a question. It was the GB game, btw, and that drive was all passes, so I guess we don't have the whole spectrum covered after all.

Yeah, I noticed that many of them were Garrett-centric. I don't really care to attack or defend him, but it does seem (to me, anyway) that the anti-Garrett posts are the ones most likely to contain wildly contradictory justifications.

The need for mixing it up is not contradictory at all. When u have a play caller only running a certain type of play over and over people will take notice...

The defense played well most of the game. But right after we march 99 yards to tie the game and desperately need to hold them - right after Ware got injured and these guys needed to make a gut check, boom - two plays and we're down 17-10. They may have only gave up 20 points and played well most of the day, but they cracked and couldn't stop anything once we tied it up and then Ware left. Those other 10 guys + Ware's replacement really came up big, eh?

We lost our best player.
We lost our best pass rusher.
We were facing one of the 2 or 3 best passing offenses in football.
We gave up two long pass plays.

I will never understand how people can look at those facts and immediately conclude that what was missing on those two plays was "guts" or "heart". We didn't get beat on those plays because of character flaws. We got beat because of an imbalance in talent and execution.

I have read every one of these things this season either here or in chat. Just wanted to gather all my learnings in one place.

1. When pass plays fail at the one-yard line, it's Garrett's fault for not running every down.
2. When run plays fail at the one-yard line, it's Garrett's fault for not passing.
3. When the defense holds teams to the fewest points they've scored all season and the Cowboys lose anyway, the defense (a) is the reason the team lost and (b) has no heart.
4. When the offense scores 30+ points and the Cowboys lose anyway, the offense (a) is the reason the team lost and (b) has no heart.
5. The Cowboys run too many screen plays, so Garrett should be fired.
6. The Cowboys never run screen plays, so Garrett should be fired.
7. Garrett is terrible because he only takes what the defense gives.
8. Garrett is terrible because he attacks the strength of the defense instead of taking what the defense gives.
9. Third-down plays that result in dumpoffs behind the line to gain were designed that way from the start, so Garrett should be fired.
10. Good RBs never ever fumble in game-critical situations, like late in the first quarter.
11. Defenses that lose their best player to injury usually improve in performance. Failure to do so means that the players have no heart.

Give me a break. When we threw the fades in the Carolina game, there were plenty of people in here saying that we should never ever throw the ball inside the 5. Plus, we did run in that series: 1 run, 2 passes. I guess that was the wrong formula, too.

Ok but why bring up a game that we won, especially against one of the weakest teams in the league? Or how 'bout Run Pass Run? Especially that close to the endzone? You gotta admit we pass way to much and when we do run, we run to the point of failure. You don't see the trend?
