Torrin Tucker probably on the outs in Tampa Bay

Just a small piece for anyone who still follows the Tuck man.

I don't have the link but read in the paper today that the Buccs released QB Jay Fielder, and brought back OT Cornell Green. The move is seen as a signal that Tucker's last days are near as he hasn't been able to practice in preseason yet because of lingering injuries.

Who knows what kind of injuries he would have had in Dallas, but it's looking good that we didn't keep him.

By the way, if he gets healthy, and some of the wild card offensive tackles don't work out this year, or they get hurt again, anyone game for bringing TT back?

I think we've had enough of Tucker around here. He was given more chances than he deserved in the first place.

TrueBlue your sig pic is great!

Thanx bro. I love the pic too. Hope he hates defenses as much as he hated whoever picked the fight with him that day.

Course, if we bring TT back, suddenly Andre Gurode doesn't look like an obvious improvement over Al Johnson. Slacker buddy! ;)

I posted in an earlier thread about a month ago how he was being abused in Buc camp. I read on their board some feedback from people that had attended their camp and everyone who was there agreed that Tucker was being treated like a turnstile by every DE in camp. And I'm not exaggerating. I live in the Tampa Bay area by the way, and it'll be no suprise to any of the diehards here when he gets cut.

No suprise here that Tucker could be a goner in Tampa.

But how many here were saying during the offseason that he was better than Pettiti? I guess maybe, now, they will admit that the offensive line trouble started with Tucker!

NOT!

No doubt in my mind that Tucker was the biggest weak link on the OL. Pettiti also had trouble but I guess I just expected that because after all he was just a rookie. I think Pettiti as he develope could become a very good player. Tucker was in his 3rd year and still looked like he had no clue

Don't think there were many, if any, who thought Tucker was better than Petitti (no matter what they thought about Rob). I think it was pretty universal that Tucker was the worst OT in the NFL last year.

let's bring Torrin the Terrible back and move him to OG!

I would rather stay with the guys we have than to waste anymore time on Tucker.

it was a joke to those who kept insisting that Parcells move him to OG

Gotcha. I did understand their reasoning after all Tucker showed he was not capiable of playing tackle maybe he would fair better at gaurd. However I think releasing him was the best choice.

I thought he did a bad job, but I also didn't expect much from him. He played RT his rookie year and then had to jump in and replace Flozell at LT last season. That is not an easy transition. I think he would have done better if they put him at RT. That is relative. Better, but probably still not good.

He couldn't play last year, so why even bring him back. Plus, Parcells said that Tucker was one of the reasons that Gurode couldn't concentrate and was a bad influence on him......so lets TT as far away from AG as possible.
