Total rebuild

The OL core is still fine. Frederick will be fine by next year.

Maybe, but GBS is a very serious condition, if it was one of us, yeah probably we'll recover "fully". But Frederick has to be able to play pro football, that takes a very high level of physical ability. The nerve sheaths that GBS affects may not regenerate. Hoping he's fine, and hoping he'll be able to play next year, but have to realize he may not.

Williams is a problem on the line, we assume he can get stronger, but everybody has their limits, he may have reached his, they do lift weights in college.

Collins at RT is still struggling a bit, he's better suited at guard but appears he's entrenched at RT, he may also be as good as he's going to get.

T. Smith has back issues, his time is limited, I fear.

This team needs to get it together soon, time is running out to build a team before retirements, players leaving due to salary cap limitations and injuries (Lee) derail what the Cowboys have started.

Yes, this is a pretty negative post, but that's what we've seen the past 20 years...

I just wish this extremely accurate analysis and ideal dream scenario could be achieved under current ownership as well.
But I think your last sentence summation kinda brought home the real truth of it all though.
Regardless, nice post man.

Thanks.
The last time Jerry was forced to make an organizational change was when we lost the Texans in their expansion year, it was their first regular season win.
I remember Parcells saying he felt sorry for Jerry.
Do we need to go 1-15 for Jerry to get some common sense? If that's what it takes I'm all for tankapalooza.

Like I said, you quit.
Trust me I'm a diehard and I care so damn much.. Yes I know we all are... I would love for JG to figure it all out but what have you seen over the past 8 years that make you think he will? Is it our outlandish offensive talent? Do JG have a great scheme he is going to unleash?
I will still watch the games and root for the boys to do well, but I don't expect playoffs. I expect to be extremely frustrated on Sunday's.

what is your definition of a "total rebuild"
sounds like keep 10-15 players and dump the rest.

i think that's overboard. we first have to have a coach/FO that knows how to build a team to begin with. w/o that, we're just garrets new team, part 6.

It's not necessary. You need a coach, then possibly a QB. You have some quality young pieces in place. Coaching should be the first order of business come January. If that doesn't happen.. it will just be more of the same.

As long as Jerry still has a pulse and Garrett is still playing HC, you could totally rebuild this team daily and it would make no difference.

There's enough talent sprinkled on this team to not have to go into a total rebuild.

Start with a new head coach, see what he thinks of the roster and go from there.

Agree.

Defense is nearly as good as any in the entire NFL, a player addition or 2 from being elite.

Get us a competent HC, and a good QB and we should make immediate noise.

I disagree.

Our o-line has all the talent it needs.

Our secondary can use a top level safety, rest of the defense is fine. Plenty of depth, too.

On offense, I'm not writing Dak off yet. Give him until week 8 before I make that decision. WR & TE are our top needs.

Maybe not total but things are needed before this team is a contender.

Need a new OC
Need a QB
Need a center if tfred is done
Need tes
Need a safety

Not sure how much longer t. smith and lee play.
Need better depth basically everywhere.

Looking like dallas is 3-5 years away from contention mainly depending on when they get a new qb that works out.

this team has some talent and with the right coaching staff could be pretty good if the qb play improves if not then it wont matter what u do
