Using Fanspeak. Got a trade offer from the Giants @ 14. They offered 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th to move from 14 to 6. I jump on it. I now have a first, two seconds, two thirds, and two fourths, picking at 6 and 14 in rounds 2-4.

1) Jaylon Smith, LB, Notre Dame
2) Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State
2) Desmond King, CB, Iowa
3) Devontae Booker, RB, Utah
3) Mike Williams, WR, Clemson
4) Sterling Shepard, WR, Oklahoma
4) Sheldon Day, DT, Notre Dame

-If we receive this type of offer from a team in the mid teens, basically offering up their entire draft to move up, we better do it.

-Jaylon Smith fell in the simulator, and I was wondering why. At first I thought, "Typical Fanspeak. Having guys fall forever." But he actually fell due to a run on DEs and OTs, which could very well happen. Teams get desperate when it comes to upgrading the trenches. I'd gladly take advantage of this.

-Wentz in the second might be a pipe dream after the Combine and Senior Bowl, but he was there, so I took him.

-Exciting to get two playmaking WRs in the middle of the draft. Williams, had he not gotten injured in the season opener this year, could've wound up as a first-round pick. Amazing value in the 3rd.

Looks good to me, realistically we won't get that kind of offer for the 5th or 6th pick in the draft unless we drop into the mid 20's.

That would be an exceptional draft, but isn't Booker coming off a serious injury?

He had a "minor" meniscus tear according to what I've read. He's hoping to play in the senior bowl though, which is Jan 24th. He should be healed up well before training camp.

It would be the late teens.

The lowest highest spot according to the draft pick value chart that floats around the Internet that would be an even trade would be pick 17 instead of 14. 14 is worth 1,100 and 17 is worth 950.

As it stands, the trade was lopsided in my favor 1814 to 1600.

Pick 17 would make it 1613 to 1600. Nearly a perfect fit.

If we were to do the 1814 to 1600, we'd probably have to give up a player.

Edit: for clarity

It's a bit of a lopsided trade with the Giants.
The Giants will never offer all that to trade up.

I love the players in your mock but the trade seems one sided and unrealistic to me.

I understand that. I used a mock draft simulation tool and was presented the opportunity to trade. I took it.

The Giants definitely aren't an organization that makes big trade ups though, and I don't think this trade would ever happen in real life. Mainly because the Giants don't typically make big splashes like that, and I don't see a division rival ever giving us their draft like that. It would be insane.

That doesn't mean there couldn't be another team at pick 14 by the time the season is over though. Maybe we trade down to 17 instead of 14 (see my post directly above this).

The Carson Wentz obsession on this board is unreal. Almost up there with the belief in Garrett.

If he's available at our 2nd round pick, and we picked up an extra 2nd via trade down, you're damn right I'll draft him. He has a lot of upside.

See my posts above and below yours.

I like your reasoning. Here is one scenario where the Giants or other team might be willing to overpay.

1. Tenn Tunsil OT
2. Cle Paxton Lynch QB
3. Balt Ramsey CB/FS
4. SD Biggest need is WR and they also need LB's of which there are two really good ones right here. If they went either route then

5. Dal - Bosa is still available

Someone might want to overpay for a shot at him.

If we are picking 6th then Stanley OT might make a great trade up candidate for the long list of teams that need an OT.

Or a QB needy team wanting to jump ahead of SF for GOFF

I would think a 1st, 2nd and 3rd would be fair but maybe a team is willing to overpay and throw in a 4th. Multiple teams wanting to move up etc.

Yep. Worst case scenario, we don't get Shepard in the 4th. It would still be a fantastic draft IMO.

I really believe Jaylon Smith and Desmond King would be starting Game 1. Jaylon Smith, Sean Lee (until injury), and Rolando McClain (barring suspension) would be a top LB corps. Jaylon Smith could play any LB position. Desmond King is one of my favorite CB prospects in the draft. With Carr gone (hopefully), I think he's a Game 1 starter.

Devontae Booker and Sheldon Day would be rotational, but would beef up two position groups of concern. I would want Day to bulk up a bit; 30 pounds of muscle/fat would get him in the 310-315 range. Even if he loses some of his burst, I would be okay with it because he plays with very good instincts and awareness. I'd have him rotating at the 1-Tech with David Irving until one of them shows they should be getting more snaps. Booker could be a real punisher between the tackles and is a violent one-cut runner, which is exactly what we need.

Mike Williams is very intriguing. He has great measurables at 6'4 210lbs. He's expected to run in the 4.4s. Had he not been injured this season, he could have been the top WR prospect in the draft. I think if he comes in healthy, he could supplant Terrence Williams.

Carson Wentz would be our plan for the future. Give him a couple years to learn from Romo. Chain him to Romo for the next 2-3 years.

I really think that we'd get 2 or 3 immediate starters and a few nice rotational players, all while addressing backup QB / QB of the future.

No way would baltimore pass on a rush DL LBer in Bosa for Ramsey. Bosa would be replacement for McPhee who they miss.

I think I agree with you, though they really need secondary help with Antonio Brown and AJ Green twice a year each. The Ravens sure do miss having that legit pass rush threat though.
