I think I agree with you, though they really need secondary help with Antonio Brown and AJ Green twice a year each. The Ravens sure do miss having that legit pass rush threat though.

Ravens have always found DBs later in the draft. Because they draft passrushers at the start of the draft who can flat out get after the QB. That in itself helps the secondary play better then what they really are

Using Fanspeak. Got a trade offer from the Giants @ 14. They offered 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th to move from 14 to 6. I jump on it. I now have a first, two seconds, two thirds, and two fourths, picking at 6 and 14 in rounds 2-4.

1) Jaylon Smith, LB, Notre Dame
2) Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State
2) Desmond King, CB, Iowa
3) Devontae Booker, RB, Utah
3) Mike Williams, WR, Clemson
4) Sterling Shepard, WR, Oklahoma
4) Sheldon Day, DT, Notre Dame

-If we receive this type of offer from a team in the mid teens, basically offering up their entire draft to move up, we better do it.

-Jaylon Smith fell in the simulator, and I was wondering why. At first I thought, "Typical Fanspeak. Having guys fall forever." But he actually fell due to a run on DEs and OTs, which could very well happen. Teams get desperate when it comes to upgrading the trenches. I'd gladly take advantage of this.

-Wentz in the second might be a pipe dream after the Combine and Senior Bowl, but he was there, so I took him.

-Exciting to get two playmaking WRs in the middle of the draft. Williams, had he not gotten injured in the season opener this year, could've wound up as a first-round pick. Amazing value in the 3rd.

The truth is we need a chip to get back into the first rd next year for when the real QB talent come out. IMO that is best scenario.

I thought about that last night. I wouldn't be opposed to trading down in the first to get a first next year.

I think that would be a fantastic strategy.

It sucks for this draft but ultimately if might be the best conduit for transition from Romo to another long term QB. All of course speculating we do not do anything in FA.

I don't think the Cowboys have nearly as many holes to fill as people think. And the high place in the draft order means getting better players every round. So don't trade back. Get the high-end impact player.

I agree. I think that everyone is just freaking out because we had a awful season. This is a good, young team with lots of talent. That being said, my top priority for the next two years would be to find the eventual successor to Romo.

I know it's all in good fun.
But I'm sure by now you and hopefully everyone else around here realizes that those trades...and drafts...in Fanspeak are totally unrealistic.
It's fun--so no harm really--but otherwise, for reality, it's a complete waste of time.

Definitely. Even before Fanspeak came out a couple years back, mock drafts have always been quite unrealistic as the draft never goes anywhere close to what we as fans and onlookers think it will.

For me, it's for fun, and to see how I as a GM would handle the draft. I like Fanspeak because of the random trades that will pop up. For this mock that I did, I had a trade down offer in every single round. I could've probably ended up with like 16 4th round picks haha.

I'd love this draft but reality is Smith isn't falling to 14 and Wentz probably won't be there in the 2nd either.

I think people overrate Bosa's pass rushing skills and certainly, he'd be a pretty big question mark as an OLB in Baltimore's 3-4.

Wentz will go in the late first round .
King has a good chance of getting in the first round also.

You are more than likely correct, however, there are always those teams that overdraft OTs, Pass rushers, and QBs. And yes, I think that at this juncture, Wentz in the 2nd is a pipe dream. He'll go in the first if he shows well in the Senior Bowl and Combine.
