Trade Bait

I remember hearing back before the trade deadline some team offered the Boys a draft pick for Martellus Bennett. Was this rumor true? If so, which team offered this trade and what round draft pick was it. With the way Jon Phillips played Saturday night Martellus could be very tradable.

Wow....I know it was just one game but by how Phillips looked Saturday night I wish Jerry would have made that trade happen.

Not trading Bennett for a 1st is blunder number 92905280529232367 in the JJ era. Honestly, I don't think it was ever confirmed as a 1st.

Their first is going to suck anyway. The coaches must know something we don't. He has the potential to be awesome IMO.

Yeah i heard the rumor but I didn't know if it was ever confirmed. That's way I started this thread just to find a little truth.

As down as everyone is on Bennett, he is one of those guys that just needs to mature and become more confident as a player. You can tell he isn't playing with confidence lately, look at how he catches the ball with his body and looks stiff out there.

Dude was making plays in training camp, leaping one handed snags, pancake blocks, almost uncoverable in the redzone. Its just a matter of time before that translates on the field.

With a guy like this, with Bennett's personality, you gotta be patient and let him develop.

Hopefully he takes the time to learn from Witten, because he is watching one of the greatest TEs to ever play the game. And he is much more physically impressive in every aspect than Witten, so hopefully if he can figure out how to practice and work like Jason - he will be an absolute monster.

Until then, he's just that really talented kid that doesn't take his talent or the game serious enough.

Correct, but he seems to be regressing. Maybe not as a blocker, but as a receiver.

Does anyone 1st suck?

Ill take #21 overall for a #2 TE.

Cincy wanted Bennett for a 1st

Prove it. I don't mean to be an *** but I have not seen one single thing that confirms the speculation. Help me out. I am probably wrong.

It was not confirmed. Some people believe anything they read.

Sophomore slump. He's catching the ball with his body because he has no confidence. I think he'll be fine. He may even have a good game this Sunday, who knows.

Whats your deal?

It was confirmed. I'm on my phone otherwise I would look it up for you.

Yeah I don't think the trade offer was ever confirmed. Jerry and the Cowboys rarely discuss trades that did not go through.
