Trade Bait

These are moves you make in the offseason, not in the middle of a season where a roll up of an OL can require that backup you just traded away to needed to play.

But no please lets trade away quality players in hopes that a new guy can come in and do what exactly? Start? Where? Draft picks? How does that help us win a SB this year? This isnt madden.

For a bunch of fans complaining that we have no depth behind Dak ya'll sure are eager to trade away all the depth we have at any other position.

Unless we can get an impact player trading these guys away, then no way am I trading talent away for draft picks. In no way do I trade away our guys to a potential contender that can knock us out of the playoffs. Last thing we need is Aaron Rodgers throwing bombs to Gallup or Wilson and yet again knocking us out in the second round. This is a superbowl year and you do what you can to stockpile talent and keep it away from other competitors.

So what happens after Collins and Gallup come back? As good as Terrance Steel and Cedrick Wilson are playing right now the Cowboys might want to consider moving on from L'el Collins and Michael Gallup. You could get some really good players for these guys or even better a couple of really high draft picks. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the Cowboys pull off a move for one or even both of these guys.
here we go again

Another scenario, is knock on wood that Tyron is healthy. but should he gets injured ? This is where depth has to come in.
Don't take depth for granted. You want extra draft picks ? Wait for the NFL compensatory ones.

i tend to think some just love the thought of trade rumors, moving wheels and scenarios. Regardless when/what time during regular season,
Just as they do pre-draft or during draft time.

Maybe we can trade Jarwin?

He was a UDFA and getting say a 5th rounder that could turn into a 4th with playing time would be good.
Sprinkle and McKeon can backup Schultz this year.
Just trade him to an AFC team etc.

:)

This has been discussed several times and there are recent threads on this.

Why would want to trade away quality players when the team has put itself in a position to win the division and potentially make a deep playoff run? This is a time to keep quality talent.

Have you noticed how players can miss 1-2 weeks and not be injured? Depth can quickly disappear.

Exactly, With Cooper hurt...the Cowboys are thin at the WR's position... if its not broke dont fix it...Yes...Gallup could/will be gone in the off season but Cowboys should get a nice comp pick for it..... same thing for the Collins....unless a #1 draft pick is involved Im not interested.

Cowboys finally have depth at WR and OL and people are wanting to trade it away....

Ohhhhhhhhh, a "let's trade <player x>" thread.

So original.

I'm not anti-trading if we get substantial value in return, but if isn't much better than what we would get by letting these guys walk, then no, they give us a better shot at winning.

So again, you want my possible FA, you BETTER come with "an offer I can't refuse".

Could see that.
It's a nice problem to have.

Front office should always be open to offers that can improve the team. I've been ok with trading Gallup, but if it's a 3rd round pick it would be a hard pass. I rather have another offensive weapon this year to help the team. If it's an earlier pick would absolutely have to consider it knowing that's atleast 1 or 2 rounds earlier you likely get in the form of a comp pick.

In Collins case his lack of availability is frustrating, but he is better than Steele. 15 million a season better? Definitely not, but he also carries a lot of dead cap money which makes trading him a bit more challenging.

You don't trade players who you need, even for depth, if you plan on a SB run.....and Dallas looks to be in the midst of making that type of run THIS year. They can compete against anyone.

I can't wait until November 2nd, 4:00 PM EST
The trade deadline will be over and we should not get these threads.

no and no.

Gallup probably has little trade value. was injured. has about 8 games or so left after his return. and is a FA next year, will be asking for a lot of money and is not a #1 WR....so what can you get in return, compared to let him walk, sign a large contract and probably end up with a 3rd round pick for compensation.

so if we let collins walk, who is the back up swing tackle? in a season with this type of success, do you want to risk it for a pick next year or do you want to make a run? steele is the swing tackle and as well as he has played, Collins is better.

so no trade for either of them because neither would help us this year, in fact I rather have both and make a run and be as deep as possible in case of injuries, than trade them for mid round picks.....

Why is there this infatuation to trade away our guys? We need depth. Trading away good players during a contending season makes ZERO sense.

Gallup can walk next year and get us a comp pick. We can trade Collins in the offseason if we really think Steele is bringing more value.

To trade these guys hastily when they can really help us just because we “can get something for them” is short-sighted IMO

I dont see why people want to trade. Trading just to trade is not smart. I have friends in fantasy that do the same thing and regret it immediately.

It’s weird. I can see both sides of the argument.
