...to see who would've preferred us to have traded Bennett.

it would have to be a sweet deal. I like having two good blocking pass catching T E s.

It depends on what was offered..

If the Bengals offered our choice of Lavernues Coles or a 4th rounder then heck no.

If they offered Rey Maualuga and a 2nd round pick then see you later Bennett.

Exactly, you have to know what was being offered.

I'd be all for trading any player on the roster, bar none, if the price was right.

Ha....your zipper is down.

Out of curiosity, how has he been doing this year?

Cowboy fans seem to be more freewheeling with their commodities than Jones himself. Trade Barber, trade Choice, trade Ware, trade Bennett. Hell, I hope we can keep them all, there are plenty of good players on this team. It's the coaching that needs help.

we have to see whats on the table first of all.

another matter is I hear Bennett has potential. Okay, how is that calculated and who knows the formula for if hes going to reach it? Until his career is over, potential is another word for "don't know" of which i dont think a team is trading for "dont know". OKay some do, but lets face it, do we get that lucky?

whats phillips potential? how do we know taking a trade for Bennett doesnt mean the guy behind him doesnt blow up in our unrealistic minds.

No I would not take the trade. Bennett is a future star in this league. HE is just stuck behind Jason Witten, who at 27 is still playing at a very high level. But by the time Witten starts to decline, Bennett will just be entering his prime and will be ready to take over so that the offense doesn't miss a beat.

If his production matched his mouth I'd say no way. But as-is if the Bengals offered a 1st round pick I'd be all over it in a second.

Despite his potential and the high regard that many of us hold for him. It's unlikely that we would've gotten that type of value for him. Not to mention, good depth is very important.

thanks to poll starter.
just curious how the numbers would come out.

For a 1st.....I'd probably send him and another reserve packing.

I think Jerry wanted to sound conservative when it comes to trading, so this is how we hear about the "big trade" that wasnt.

Obviously, it depends on what was offered.

The guy has amazing talent, but I doubt he'll ever come close to reaching his potential. Jerry and the coaching staff was fully warned in the war room that you have to keep on him all the time. The guy thinks he's a star without ever doing anything on the field.

If/when he ever has any real success, he may become absolutely impossible to handle.

As others said, depends what is coming back, but I'm certainly willing to listen to offers.

He's all hype and potential to this point, and just being a great athlete doesn't make you a good receiver.
