Lunch Break is advocating trading for Shawne Merriman. If Cowboys are going to be trading for another pass rushing OLB, then I would rather have someone who is not coming off potentially career threatening injury. The guy has not looked right the past 2 seasons.

And it likely takes a first day pick. For that price would rather have Peppers over Merriman.

I would take Peppers over Merriman too, but I doubt we trade for anyone.

Thing is Wade coached this guy.Could be deadly with Ware.

First off we should not give up a #1 for ANY player. We should NOT give up a #1 for any player. We already suffered in this yrs draft because we paid a steep price for a WR.

I highly doubt this team makes a trade this time around.

Nothing can help this team but a complete enema of all the loser coaches that we have.

 I love how you encorporated the word enema in your comment. If I had to chose a word or phrase that sums up how I feel about this staff and how they need to be gone, enema is it. Nice one!

I wouldn't want to give up any high picks again, like we did last year.

I didn't say a first rounder, I said "likely" first DAY pick. Maybe a 2nd. Everyone knows about Merriman's lack of production, past injury, roid issue and other assorted off the field problems.

That said, Green Bay thinks they can trade Kampmann (who has disappeared as a 3-4 OLB) and a 4th for Peppers. There is value out there right now, moreso than I have seen in past years. The Jets gave up a handful of magic beans to acquire Braylon Edwards, who is just 1.5 seasons away from a pro bowl. Even the Rams' Steven Jackson appears to be on the block.

You think people pay attention?

You ask a lot.

The only thing Merriman brings that I would want is intensity.

Even though I find his "lights out" dance to be pretty cheesy, he gets jacked and gets other guys jacked when he makes a play.

:laugh2: Just trying to maintain some standards. :D

Not Merriman. Too many question marks.

Peppers is a different story, although age+cost may become a concern.

I'd rather not make any trades, unless Houston or Arizona calls and wants to give us Johnson or Fitzgerald, respectively, i.e. not gonna happen.

We should just draft that RB out of Cal and stick him at WR.

Actually WE do pay attention, however, given the information and the history of trades in the past Jones would concede a 1st round pick in a heartbeat for Merriman even though his "value" is not to that standard.

We will not trade. But I would trade for peppers over merriman. I think that peppers could be the most physically talented player in the league. Whether you agree or not with that last statement he is more talented than merriman. And merriman does come with too many question marks like stated above.
