Trade Deadline

Actually WE do pay attention, however, given the information and the history of trades in the past Jones would concede a 1st round pick in a heartbeat for Merriman even though his "value" is not to that standard.
All evidence to the contrary.

I don't think we need to trade for anybody.I think the best thing that they can do is play with the hand that they have, win or lose.See where you are at the end of the season and go from there.Currently you have a lame duck head coach who may or may not be replaced,so there is no need to bring in a player who fits into the current scheme when that same scheme may or may not be here next season. Now if you could see into the future and see a super bowl that would be different, but I believe this team has more problems than 1 player can fix.

Sorry I just don't see the Chargers trading Merriman for anything less than a first rounder. He's like their DWare in my eyes and I'll be damned if management evens think about trading DWare.

IIRC, the draft changed to only having the 1st round on Thurs night, so a "first-day pick" would in fact be a #1.

I am asking Hostile if he still wants to defend the Ginger or not, these droids are not the droids you are looking for.

i think merriman if healthy is a much more dominant as well as consistent player then peppers

peppers over the years has vanished for stretches at a time

no suprised he bounced back in a contract year last season though. figures.

hes still a good talent his work ethic just worries me some. maybe it might change here. i certainly wouldnt oppose a trade for him its not like we have something better opposite ware.

but if i had to chose i would take peppers only because it is clearly obvious merriman is not healthy

did anyone watch the chargers raiders game where the announcers showed where he was dragging his leg while trying to make a play

hes not even able to play at full speed plus hes gonna want big money during the off-season despite the fact he hasnt even shown he fully recovered from his knee injury

yeah its possible merriman will bounce back but its just to big of a risk for me

Be careful HOGWILD may hear you and get the idea that it's fine to trade our draft away again.

You want to talk to me about Gilligan's Island and Star Wars? Take it to the Off Topic Zone.

Finally there's a mocking nickname for Jerry that actually is funny.

Kudos.

Lunch Break is advocating trading for Shawne Merriman. If Cowboys are going to be trading for another pass rushing OLB, then I would rather have someone who is not coming off potentially career threatening injury. The guy has not looked right the past 2 seasons.

And it likely takes a first day pick. For that price would rather have Peppers over Merriman.

Pure speculation on their part I would hope. I don't think we make any trades. Let's let this team gel. Why bring in another unknown factor and disrupt what may start coming together.

By that I mean, their is some adversity, some new players. Let's see how they respond. The season is early.

SAVE THE DRAFT PICKS!

How many draft picks would it take to trade for this guy:

It would be nice if Jerry and his clan would look at the success of teams like the Giants, Colts, Ravens,etc... and build a championship team the right way... the draft. Parcells created the nucleus of players on this current team. And it seems that Jerry just seems intent on running this team into the ground. So I hope the Cowboys do not give away any high draft picks in some sort of trade.

The only thing Merriman brings that I would want is intensity.

Even though I find his "lights out" dance to be pretty cheesy, he gets jacked and gets other guys jacked when he makes a play.

Thats why I wanted Joey Porter or Ray Lewis... People feed off of that. And thats also something you cant teach. You got it or you dont.

Both of them would be huge wastes. Peppers hasnt showed up to play a single down this yr and looked totally invisible when we played them two weeks ago.

Merriman is an utter waste of time.

Stats for both:

Peppers-3 games...9 tackles...1 sack

Merriman- 4 games...8 tackles...NO sacks

The problem is he doesnt make any plays. He's been non existant on the field this yr.
