maybe we should shop tyron smith around a little couldn't hurt? I guess I would take a 4th rounder maybe 5th just depends on his health at this point.

Maybe use that 4th rounder to get Ware or JJ Watt I think probably

Trade deadline coming up. I would give the rams a 1st round pick for Aaron Donald. Maybe they would be dumb enough to bite.

what about Mario Williams if the Bills are done by then. He's contract is high next year and will create space from them next year. Buffalo will most likely cut him after the year or after next year anyways.

Dion Jordan - Miami Dolphins - Coming back from a suspension and plays behind 2 good DE's, 4-3 Speed rushing DE, 3-4 OLB
Quinton Coples - NY Jets - Just got benched and is no longer a starting OLB. Naturally a 4-3 DE
Da'Quan Bowers - Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Natural 4-3 DE, rumors he may get cut prior to the start of the season.

What you think you have to give up for any of these guys?

Salary Cap!!! That is why I don't think any moves will be made!! We have to pay Dez and DeMac!!!

I don't think the Bills are going to be done by October 28, which is the trade deadline.

ALL of those guys are still on rook contracts or coming off, and without production. Great options IMO. Jimmy would find a way, so can Garrett.

I think after this year we will have to make some decisions and I think these players will want to stay.
Free, Melton, and Witten is the fastest way we can create cap space by cutting. Almost 19 million. I think Jerry and Stephen will go to them to take a pay cut on there salary and get an increase in bonus to stay. Also they should go to Romo and ask for a decrease in salary to open up some cap space.
Also by restructuring Tyron smith deal we can save nearly 10 million, so I'm sure that will happen.
We have nearly 5 million in cap space now so I expect a new deal or two maybe 3 at the bye and we will use that space to help cover some of the extensions.

Also most extensions 1st year of the deal are low because they get a signing bonus. So expect Dez, McClain, Carter to all get a low 1st year salary with a sizable bonus.

Someone mentioned Hardy and although I'd take a chance on him if Carolina cut him, trading for him wouldn't work since Carolina franchised him. His cap hit is close to $12M.

I have mentioned it before, but I really think we should call the Raiders about Charles Woodson. Yes, he is 38, but he is playing at a solid level (39 tackles, 5 passes defended, 2 interceptions). I think his experience would give him instant credibility in the locker room, he would be ecstatic to be off a very bad Raiders team, and he would help in nickel situations and at Free Safety. I also don't think he would cost that much to acquire. The Raiders have nothing to gain by keeping him since he is most likely retiring at the end of the season. Every time I see Jeff Heath out there, I know there could be a place for Woodson on this team.

Where have you been hiding yourself Chris? And while I like the idea of bringing in a vet for leadership and championship swagger, not sure Jerry trades for Woodson to be a nickel DB. And Cowboys like Church and Wilcox too much.

Don't forget about Free, Melton, and Durant

Durant I want to keep but he may expect to start elsewhere. Melton they would have to come up with a totally different price than a $9 million option.

Free is going to expect to start and I wouldn't offer more than he's getting now. I have a feeling we draft his replacement or if Parnell shows up well in these next weeks we may go his route.

Still here, mostly in draft forum. A few weeks ago my push for Woodson was at Free Safety, which I still think he would come in and play by season's end. Now my thinking is shifted towards replacing Jeff Heath when we play 3 safeties or when Wilcox gets a breather. Heath is a huge liability IMO.

Heath has size and athleticism but man, his tackling is terrible. Don't understand what he is doing differently when on D, seems to tackle just fine on ST. He may be better off moving from safety to zone corner. Kid is smart and works hard tho, could be another Charlie Waters for all we know, except for the hitting. :D
