Although I'm perfectly fine with staying at 12 because there will be decent talent available, the more I look at this class I think there's a decent chance the few blue chip guys don't get close to us, especially with an overall lack of QBs to push them down.
A lot of the focus is on a short trade down when that discussion is brought up to gain another mid rounder, but I wonder if there's someone that could entice a late first round team to give up a 2026 first for a longer move back. Hopefully a team that thinks they're on the cusp but maybe is vulnerable to a massive backslide due to an aging or injury prone QB (basically us last year).
I love guys like Walter Nolen, Mike Green and Ashton Jeanty that I expect we would miss out on, but the next tier of players isn't too far off and is quite deep. Grant (although I could see him in the teens), Egbuka, Golden, Burden, Ward, Warren, Booker, Hampton would be some of my targets. I think somewhere between the Steelers at 21 and the Rams at 26 is the sweet spot, teams looking to get over the hump but have some warts.
Would you be willing to make a move back for future picks? 2026 looks like a solid draft, but the grass is always greener this time of year when everyone is potential. Where would you target moving back to and who for?
