In 2014 the Browns traded the 4th overall pick to the Bills.

They received in return:

#9 Overall

Bills 2015 1st round draft pick
Bills 2015 4th round draft pick

9th is obviously later than 7th, but I don't think it would be far-fetched for the 49ers to trade us their 7th overall draft pick and maybe their 2nd and a 4th round draft pick this year or a 3rd next year.

That being said, they know the Jaguars and Ravens aren't going to select a QB, they don't know however whether we will.

Assuming Wentz goes to Cleveland and San Francisco covets Goff, we could make out like bandits here.

I think they would also have to worry about a team like Philadelphia leap frogging them. The Rams may as well.

I might even entertain the Rams if they wanted to trade down with us and give us their 15th pick and their two 2nd round draft picks.

Imagine what we could do with the 15th pick and three second round draft picks and you still have that early 3rd round draft pick.

I'd settle for 15 and the two 2nds. That would give us 5 picks in the first 3 rounds or 5 of the first 67 players available. With so many holes to fill, this would be a major boost and we would still have 5 picks to fill out the draft. We could shore up our D-Line, Secondary and grab a RB, 2nd WR and backup QB. Trading back is our best option IMO.

I don't see a scenario where SF gives up a 2017 first rounder. They just have far too many holes and I personally believe all this talk of them trading up is just talk, unless a team takes far less than market value, like a 2nd or 3rd for them to move up.

If we are not picking a QB at 4 i would trade down. Maybe not 15 but if I could get 7 and a 2nd id jump on it. Might not be a perfect point trade but really gives you the quality pick in a draft deep on the dline which we need

If we don't like Goff/Wentz that much more than Prescott that might be a option.

4 of the top 67 (I think that is right) picks would be pretty sweet.

The Niners might not be trading up for a Qb but for a guy like Myles Jack, Bosa, Tunsil ( if he drops) Ramsey or Stanley. Local sports radio discuss this and they said the Niners think they can get a good qb in the 2nd. They said they really like Cook.

In 2013, the Raiders dropped from 3 to 12 and only got Miami's 2nd rounder in return. Too many variables at play to paint such broad conclusions.

This is more likely to be what we get because this draft is very similar at the top and deep in the 2nd day like 2013 was. 2014 was a very rich draft and it would cost a premium to move up

The chances of someone trading into The top 5 is very remote in this draft .

Let me make sure I have this straight

You think that other teams think Goff is good enough that they would trade multiple picks to go get him but we should not stand pat and pick him because you think he is not a good QB?

If multiple teams think he is worth a #4 overall pick, why should we not take him esp if we feel he is a top 10 talent and potential franchise QB?

Why would that be a reach as you have alluded to multiple times previously ?

If we don't "like" a QB who is projected to go in the top 10 and has the traits to be a franchise QB "much more" than a QB who is projected to go in Rd 4 and is a major project then we should fire everyone involved in the "liking"

I have a feeling Dak is going much higher than people expect. Wouldn't surprise me if he's taken in the second.

I guess it's possible

A lot of this we will really know only in 2-3 years
As much as I like Romo I'm afraid that his playing days are numbered due to injuries and his style of play. I think this is more likely than not and would like to have a real top QB in the wings

Tim Tebow was a First RD er, teams get way into the team captain leadership thing and can't see if they can play at the next level.

Not getting the Prescott love, especially from ant-RG3 contingent. RG3 would be the highest rated QB in this draft and a much more explosive version of Prescott, arm and legs. Not to mention his production in final year blows all of them away.

And if RG3 at QB should fail, then RG3 is a much more dynamic open field runner than Braxton Miller and faster as well.

SF might give us this year's 3rd and 4th to move up to 4.
They may want us to throw in a late rounder to square the deal. Certainly they won't give us their second straight up to move 3 slots.

LA Rams might take our 1st (4) and our 3rd for their 1st (15) and both of their 2nd rounders.

Maybe

The one position that does sometimes lead to seemingly out of balance trades is QB.
So never say never , I guess

Was listening to talking Cowboys and Nate Newton made a point. He said "don't we already have Prescott on the roster with Jamiell Showers?" He's more athletic and and has a bigger arm the Prescott.

If we are not going to take Wentz or Goff then let's just continue to develop showers for another year and see what we have in the training camp and preseason with Showers in 2017.

How did that work out with RG3?
