I really don't see why they love Dunbar so much. McFadden can do everything Dunbar can do and more. He hasn't been productive and I doubt that they will use him anymore this year compared to last year. It just amazes me that he is still on the rooster and hasn't scored a TD since being in the NFL. IMO they should cut him and find someone who can break tackles and gain extra yardage and still do just about everything Murray can last year.

Murray scored 1 TD per 30 carries.

Dunbar only had 29 carries.

Well if Murray runs a 4.4, then every linebacker and defensive backs that has chased him down from behind must run at 4.39 or better. That's literally dozens of linebackers and Dbs. How many linebackers and Dbs are in the league with that capability? Not even dozens. Weird.

Sounds like you are inflexible in the face of logic.

What is weird is assigning sub 4.4 speed to Randle when he failed to test below a 4.5 on several occasions and even tested at 4.63

There is video of Murray running 4.4s

Your mind is as flexible as concrete. I didn't say Randle ran under 4.4. Buts its laughable to say that's Murray's game speed.

Tampa may be releasing a running back that can play - either Bobby Rainey or Mike James. May be worth a look.

Good point. However, the FO has been wrong before and I believe its a mistake not to look around to add more depth into a crucial part of our success last year. I'm not buying that McFadden can stay healthy all year. I also don't think Randle can handle the entire load if McFadden is injured. As for Dumbar - lets get serious here. He's nothing more than a wasted roster space that we can use for someone who is a workhorse.

The FO may like what they have. But they should really be worried. Which brings me to conclusion that they are being stubborn in not trying to replace Murray's production with a quality back that can remain healthy.

What quality back is out there that can replace Murray's production? The Cowboys realistically weren't going to replace Murray's production this year with anyone better than what they already have. I know we think highly of Murray but prior to last season....he was making no ones top 5 running backs list and he couldn't' stay healthy.

We don't need Randle to handle a entire load. We need 3 solid backs who can burn clock and help us control the time of possession. I honestly believe Dunbar's production will increase this year. He seems to take advantage of the little touches he does get.

Wow, another "how about we trade for a RB?" thread. Gee, nobody has thought of this before! Genius idea! /sarcasm

No team in the NFC is going to give up a quality backup who could be a Pro Bowler for us just to get a late round pick in return.

If he's not tripping over his own feet.

What the Murray, Randle, McFadden, and Dunbar run in the 40 these days, I don't know.

However, what I do know is that Murray's play speed simply isn't very fast. He was run down on just about every opportunity he had to go the distance. And really, that is ok. Murray is a good back and his game isn't about speed. But the guy just isn't as fast as Randle, IMO.

Randle is quicker with his cuts, can change direction better and has better top end speed, I would say from watching both backs play.

That doesn't mean Randle is a better back than Murray or anything though.
