Trade for Hunter and we fill 2 needs!!

If the Cowboys can make it happen without giving up a future 1st rounder (which seems unlikely) I'd be all for a move up. To me nothing is more important than getting that 1st round pick right and there is plenty of upside with a guy like Hunter. Hes actually the ideal fit for a team like the Cowboys who will obviously need CB help until Diggs can get back to 100%. They also have solid depth at WR but lack a true stud after Lamb. You could probably start him out as a full time CB + 20 snaps a game at WR and adjust things from there depending on the needs of the team. You can absolutely make the 2 way player thing work to some extent, I think it just depends on if you think hes a legitimate blue chip player or just a solid player who can do multiple things.
Sounds good I just would hope that we had the offense to feature in to make him successful and give us those big plays

1. We don’t have the ammunition to move up to #2. It would take future picks. Won’t happen.

2. Here’s the real reason most teams don’t really want to start him both ways. They say it’s great, but they will then tell him, start here and we will work you in on the other side. The problem…..if he plays both ways, any injury, even a sprained ankle or sore shoulder, now means you just lost two front line starters. You have to replace your starting wr and starting CB with lesser players, weakening both units.
He is threatening to retire if he can't play both sides of the ball.

What does this team need right now, it's been said on here millions of times WR and CB along with some other positions. The focus is on Hunter who WILL play two positions in NFL. Well we need a CB and we need a WR, let's take the two for 1 deal!

Our second round pick will help, I mean we were going to use it anyways on either a CB or WR with that pack, so throw that in. What else we would have to throw in, breaks my heart to think about!!

Be nice to me and please give me your thoughts!!!
If he gets hurt and must go on IR, then you lose two players.

I'm not sayin we can trade up from 12 to get him but I agree with @thunderpimp91 he can play both ways. He's not going to play 100% of the snaps on either side of the ball so you don't save a roster spot but you would give yourself a ton of flexibility in how you matched up with each team.

If we were picking closer to the top of the draft, I would seriously consider moving up for him.

Of course all of this is dependent on believing that he has NFL talent on both sides of the ball. I didn't watch enough to know so I am trusting the concensus rankings.

Yeah I think people are looking at Hunter the wrong way. I doubt a team lets him play 120+ snaps every single game, but you can sort of mix and match him to get him more than your typical starter. I'd assume most weeks he is a regular starter on one side of the football and you have packages for him on the other side to rotate him in and out.

Trading for Hunter would likely be too costly a price for the Cowboys to pay. Seems like a poor decision to make for a team that relies upon the draft so much.

exactly. It does get exciting when you think about being able to put pressure on the other team by deploying him where it most benefits you on a given week.

what!?

although he maybe able to play one of the positions time to time, but you need full time dedicated players. this ain't Madden NFL son!!!

I see Hunter being a FT CB, and come in only on special packages at WR.. As for Jerry giving up a 2nd round pick too I see no problem since how many times have we seen him screw up that pick anyway.

But having said all that, moot point since it won’t happen.

Coog: Captain?
Picard: Yes Ensign?
Coog: I want to create a thread!
Picard: Do not make it so.
Coog: Hey! That's not what you always say! It's always, "Make it so." I want to know why. Please give me your thoughts.
Picard: I never thought anyone would ever top Q...
