With all these trade ideas, I was wondering why no one brought this up. If Dallas was going to go all in for this year I would like to see a trade for a young proven left guard. Are there any potential teams that are tanking that could facilitate this trade. I would much rather solidify this weakspot than trade for a wr or a dt.

Sure, lots of teams have young, proven left guards that they are looking to unload.

While we are at it, why dont we trade for Allen or Mahomes while we are at it. Im sure either team would jump on a 1st and 2nd rd pick in the 2032 draft.

Because we've got four options:
  1. McGovern has been solid after some injury issues
  2. Farniok was decent when filling in
  3. Peters has been good on his limited snap count
  4. Tyler Smith at LT has been solid but does he shift to guard when Tyron returns in December?
I don't see a viable trade that improves on the options we already have. Especially in a month or two time when Tyron may be healthy and Peters fully fit. The o-line play hasn't been perfect but we've placed enough bets and we're still waiting to see how some of them work out. We should stick with what we've got a reassess in summer.

Provide a name or two - just to let CZers know you've done some research.

The only thing I would even think about trading for would be another LB that fits our scheme. This is of course barring a serious injury to another position we are forced to shore up.

To be honest I think center has been a bigger problem than LG, though both McGovern and Biadasz have been better this season (no matter what PFF says).

There arent enough quality O Linemen to go around. There are plenty of starters on other teams that shouldnt be.

There's only one GM that would look down on his practice field and say, "Man, that young guard has really proven himself. We should unload him. Maybe get a mid round pick?"

That GM just so happens to reside in Dallas. Or wherever his mansion or boat happen to be located.

we got to realistic here.the chances of Stephen Jones trading for anyone is close to zero and for LG its zero.

I'd think if we're going after an offensive line upgrade, Center is where you'd want to focus.

What are we doing here? Making a trade for the sake of making a trade? LG is filled well with McGovern, IMO.

McGovern has played well this past week.

Farniok was definitely playing well, but Philbin listened to the ignorant masses crying for old man Peters. How did that work out? What a joke.

Cowboys are fine with both McGovern and Farniok at Left Guard.
