I have praised him as the most clutch WR in the NFL.

He is elite. He has the ability to be a true #1 WR.....

but we have Cooper, who despite a less flashy style, is the best finesse WR in the game.

We have Lamb. Enough said on him. He's a legit #1 talent.

We have Wilson, who has emerged as a great weapon.

We don't need this embarrassment of wealth at WR given the injury to Dak.

I believe Gallup could fetch a 1st at worst, and I think a 1st & 3rd is very possible.

Why? He's the best deep threat receiver on the team. We shouldn't have traded for Cooper and we wouldn't be in this mess.
Cooper is a better player than Gallup.

Simply - we can't afford all three.

The Cooper / Lamb combo is enough.

Gallup has the most trade value given his contract.

it's also likely that after next season cooper might be gone. who better to replace him than gallup?
That would require us handing a massive contract to Gallup.

We could trade Gallup for a fortune now, and stick with Cooper & Lamb.......

There is no way I trade Gallup............He and Lamb are going to be an unstoppable duo for half a decade ; Cooper's heart and attitude are questionable.....
and Dez was unquestionable until he got paid. So was Miles Austin. Roy Williams.... Many others in recent Cowboys history.

Coopers been paid, he's the top finesse WR in the game of football.

If going that route why not trade Cooper and get the draft picks and lose a big cap hit?

Because of the contract, the cap hit we would take makes it almost impossible.

His contract means only a team that is in "win now" mode would consider it.

His market value is lower than Gallups.

So you want to trade a legitimate WR for what? He is signed for another year cheaply and is outperforming Cooper in terms of YPC (20.5 vs. 10.9), nearly equal to him in yards (424 vs. 348) despite fewer catches (39 vs. 17)?

Completely different types of WR.

Cooper is the best finesse WR in the game.

Gallup is quickly emerging as one of the best deep threats in the game.

And for what? We can't afford to keep both after next season. Gallup has a higher market value now - and we could use a second 1st round pick for o-line or defense..

Cooper is not better than Gallup at $20M per season, the return is not there.

I'm not for it, but its not the crazy idea that people are making it out to be. If you can really get a 1st+ more you cant rule it out. This team has to think outside the box if they want to improve, especially on defense.

not necessarily. cooper had leverage in that behind him there was only gallup and cobb had left. but now we have gallup, lambo, cedric wilson, noah brown, and even schultz. my impression of gallup is that he would be more understanding of the pie (salary cap). this is not to say he'll be cheap. no talented wr is cheap. but i think his deal will be manageable. jmo
