What LB's are out there and what teams need an OG that we could swing a trade.
Now that Ro Mclain is out for 10 games. Should be cut. But all of that is for another thread.

Also there is one out there about signing Durant. Not sure if any other FA's been brought up in that one, as I have not read through all of them yet.

Hope to keep this one for trade possibilities. I know it's probably too soon to look to a trade. But once TC starts and teams have a few weeks to evaluate players, possibly a few injuries happen. Should they then look at trading Leary for a LB unless one of our own guys steps up first.

you're not getting any starting quality linebacker for Leary, I'd rather wait until training camp to see if there's an injury to one of the Cowboys guards or possible trade him for a fourth that could upgrade to a third round draft pick based on playing time

Doesn't need to be a starter, but someone to add depth and can compete to start.

you don't trade a starting quality guard for a depth guy

Well, being a quality starting guard didn't help in any trades in the draft. And unless injuries happen to a team in TC. I don't see any teams offering a high pick for him either.
Getting a LB with some potential would be good if one of our LB's don't step up. Getting that type of player is the same as a 3rd or 4th round pick.

Would I prefer a pick over a player, yes, but just saying if we have nothing in any of our young LB's, and a vet is not brought in, as this team seems to opposed to. Then make a trade.

Of course not.

You keep that "starting quality guard" so he can be a gameday inactive.

Who needs that depth LBer who might be able to play a couple of downs and on special teams?

This would just deepen the wound left by McClain.

Rid the Cowboy gene pool of the likes of Rolando.......don't offer up anything to replace an idiot, IMO.

Need to cut mcclain to at least prove to Gregory another failed test won't be tolerated...not cutting ronaldo sure won't send the right message

Too late for that, IMO.

Seems the Cowboys knew of this issue weeks ago.

Kind of like death row in California.........what message does it send when it happens 20 years later?

I agree that he should be cut, tho.Just should've happened immediately.

Franchises like this should have some clause in a contract that gets them some cash from repeat offenders when they constantly tarnish their reputations, IMO.

I am in favor of trading Leary. But we already have a bunch of guys who can "play a couple of downs and on special teams."

Leary is more underrated on this board that overrated. Leary is a damn good guard and still valuable to have on this team.

It really has nothing to do with him as a player. It is more to do with what he can do each Sunday. Unless he is starting, he is probably a healthy scratch who does not dress because all he can do is play left guard. He is basically insurance if Collins gets hurt or has to move to another position on the line.

I only want a LB for Leary if we can get a starting quality one, which is doubtful. For depth we're probably better off just signing the best LB we can find off waivers. Does anyone know if a team out there is stacked at that position?

Most teams are thin at LB. The team in the best shape, starters and depth is the Bengals. But they don't need a guard.

If we end up trading Leary, I want to do it for the best player or pick we possibly can get, regardless of position. I think if we trade him desperately, we will end up with nothing. Keep him at least until a team sees it's in bad need for a starting guard (likely after an injury in camp or before the trade deadline). Maximize his value.
