The Bengals could be interested in trading a mid-round pick (fifth) for Rush. He was the perfect backup for the Cowboys, winning several regular season games to keep his team on the path to making the playoffs until their star quarterback could return fully healthy. Rush could give Burrow a chance to fully heal in early September, so the Bengals have a good chance of running the table this winter.

You think these teams are stupid? If Dallas all of the sudden is looking to move Rush, that means they are keeping Grier. That means teams could wait for Rush to be released. No need to give up picks for someone about to get cut.

I'd rather go into the season with a competent backup than get a 5th round pick.
Right, Last year is proof! (However, if Dak is injured, he'd better be calling plays in from the sideline again...) That was nice.

LOL, you want to trade the Cowboys best backup to i guess go with Grier because of what you saw last night against players who will be out of a job this week? Lance is definitely not ready yet. This forum is amazing....and not in a good way. Keep the jokes coming folks.

A cold bottle of Don Padron and a salt shaker makes a lot more sense...

It's not the OP's idea...it's an article floating around. The OP just pasted part of the article. He should have posted the link for all to read.

It really depends on whether the Bengals want Coop specifically and whether they think a team lower on the waiver claim ladder would pick him up. It makes sense to trade for him if both of those are affirmative.

It doesn’t matter, though. Dallas is going to keep Cooper. Regardless of whether the team/defense carried Coop to his wins or not, the bottom line is he has more experience starting and being a part of wins for this team. Fans all point to last year, but his first start was in ‘21 on the road with a late game winning drive capped by a TD throw.

Dumb for dallas....but luckily no team would give a 5th for Rush (except Jerruh, who if we don't watch him, might accidentally trade for a player already on his roster...since 4th picks are useless)

The Cowboys wouldn’t trade Rush. At this time he is just to valuable. To many teams literally have horrible backups.

Think it's kinda silly to even think we'd take interest in dealing Rush... aka, "a bird in the hand"... and accepting "two in the bush" (Lance, and presumably, keeping Grier after all).

We all say this all the time, or a lot of us do... this team is in as good a position as any of us can remember to contend for the big trophy.

Not going to accept unnecessary risks, and Rush proved last season to be a season-saver. Dak's not been as resilient the last couple of years. I just don't think any of this moves the needle at all, though yeah, I've been fooled before (... haven't we all).

unfortunately the devil is in the details. he was good enough for cowboys to win because the cowboys defense gave up 13.5 pts per game. that would have been better than any defense last year by 3 points. it was the cowboys defense that won those games. he led the offense to 22nd ranking in every statistical category. you could have inserted anyone and got the same results. his last two games he folded like a cheap chair. Cinci had a slightly better defense than the cowboys. so is brandon allen any worse than Rush for them to give up a 5th? that's what cleveland paid for Cooper.

and secondly before you ship off the average QB, better make sure the other guys is actually capable of producing the 22nd ranked offense. I am not sure Lance is ready.

What the Cowboys do for a backup QB then? You can't possibly think Lance would be ready to fill that role this season. He knows nothing about that system - and found it hard to grasp his last one that was easier
