What the Cowboys do for a backup QB then? You can't possibly think Lance would be ready to fill that role this season. He knows nothing about that system - and found it hard to grasp his last one that was easier
Grier...

The Bengals could be interested in trading a mid-round pick (fifth) for Rush. He was the perfect backup for the Cowboys, winning several regular season games to keep his team on the path to making the playoffs until their star quarterback could return fully healthy. Rush could give Burrow a chance to fully heal in early September, so the Bengals have a good chance of running the table this winter.
Rush is a proven, quality backup QB, where Lance isn't. They aren't trading away Rush unless Lance proves he is better.

No one is going to trade for Cooper Rush, especially a mid round pick. Lol Besides, we need him for this season. Trey Lance just got here, he’s not ready to see the field. If we were to lose Dak in the opener like we did last season, we would be screwed without Rush.

I would hope the Cowboys would keep Grier as the backup if Rush was shipped.

Why do that when the Bengals can just pick up Will Grier instead? You saw what the guy did against the Raiders JAGs...he's a star in the making!
Waive wire allows team with worst record to have first dibs on Grier. I expect a trade (6th or 7th round pick) since I think a NFL team will want Grier as a backup qb.

Bengals would have to trade for Grier. They are to far down on the waiver list.

I would trade Rush to the Bengals if they had an offensive lineman that would improve our depth here and roll with Dak, Grier, and Lance.

As for draft compensation, a 5th would be nice but realistically a 6th and a conditional 2025 pick would probably be more likely.

Who’s going to be the QB backup?

You see one good game from Grier against mostly fringe bubble players who wont be on a team soon and you're ready to trade Rush. Smh lol.

Cut down is less than 48 hours away. Grier either goes on the Cowboys PS or is outright released. Teams can pick him up for nothing in 48 hours. Do you think, under these circumstances, any team would offer any draft compensation for his services? Nothing is impossible, but it seems very improbable.
