You see one good game from Grier against mostly fringe bubble players who wont be on a team soon and you're ready to trade Rush. Smh lol.
He was also playing with fringe bubble players...I wonder if Grier could have played as well if he had played with the starters?
It's funny how some on here want to say " Well, he hasn't shown much", but when a player plays well they say "Well, it was against fringe bubble players".
When Rush has played in the preseason he has been comparable to Grier...there's really nothing that separates the two. Except I think Grier has a little more moxie to him.

Rush has the trust of the coaching staff to not make dumb mistakes and play within the confines of the system. Which he does well and proved it when he had to. Take out that Raider game and look at the 2 preseason games this season and last year with the team, still see something with him? I'd much rather think this game was an anomaly imo. I want Grier to do well, he has the arm just makes too many mistakes.

You're right about the coaches having the trust in Rush...just drive the bus. And ,yes, Grier has made mistakes and It's probably due to pressing too much trying to make something big happen for him. As there was no pressure last night he balled out. Grier has always had a gunslinger mentality, and he will continue to...those types of QB's tend to be mistake prone ( Romo, Favre). But, with the way this Cowboy team is built Rush is the proper QB for the "Texas Coast Offense"...limit the mistakes and not put the team in bad spots.
I don't really care who the back up is as long as they come in and produce a W.

Cut down is less than 48 hours away. Grier either goes on the Cowboys PS or is outright released. Teams can pick him up for nothing in 48 hours. Do you think, under these circumstances, any team would offer any draft compensation for his services? Nothing is impossible, but it seems very improbable.
Perhaps a team low on the waiver list might offer a pick.

The Cowboys wouldn’t trade Rush. At this time he is just to valuable. To many teams literally have horrible backups.
Remember what he did in a big division matchup last season? 3 picks in a half. Killed us. He was getting progressively worse.

Rush is literally on Greyhound’s webpage in a driver’s uniform.

LOL, you want to trade the Cowboys best backup to i guess go with Grier because of what you saw last night against players who will be out of a job this week? Lance is definitely not ready yet. This forum is amazing....and not in a good way. Keep the jokes coming folks.
Dumbest fan base in the NFL no question about it.

How bout Dak, Rush, Grier, the new guy and all 7 picks in next years draft for Burrow. That’s the only trade that gives us a chance at getting to the SB.

Dallas can not move on from rush this year and be serious about playoff contention. Trey isn't ready to win any games, he's a liability at best. Rush is limited athletically but 6-1 in real games with at least 1 300+ yards passing in a game. Grier did well vs practice squad players and guys stocking Walmart shelves starting Thursday. Let's stop being crazy about a couple guys who have looked terrible all off season.

Well, I don't think we can trade Grier, because if there is no trade, we're going to cut him. But we could, in theory, maybe trade Rush and pick up a late draft pick. Not a crazy idea, if the team likes Grier enough. But that would be a big turnaround in opinion. And Rush is proven as a backup, which you want in a championship window year.

The Bengals could be interested in trading a mid-round pick (fifth) for Rush. He was the perfect backup for the Cowboys, winning several regular season games to keep his team on the path to making the playoffs until their star quarterback could return fully healthy. Rush could give Burrow a chance to fully heal in early September, so the Bengals have a good chance of running the table this winter.
Why would the Cowboys trade Rush - their backup QB since his rookie 2017 season (sans 6 months during 2020) -- and has performed admirably as a starter when Prescott was injured?

Wentz is sitting out there healthy and experienced, but a vested veteran. A contender not 100% comfortable with their QB2 will sign him after week one so they don’t have to guarantee his salary. If the Bengals are interested in a different back up QB that kind of move would be prudent.

Cooper is the backup. Trey is not going take that position this season.in a best case scenario he is not going to play this season, period. He needs development

He shouldn't play, he shouldn't get any kind of designed plays, he should hold a clipboard and learn. He is Tony Romo during the 2004 season

I like Will Grier. Liked him at WVU and hoped we would draft him. Don't matter how he got here he got here. Now he is leaving. Regardless of the game on Saturday he was always my favorite backup. I say the best of luck to this young man still chasing down a dream.

You think these teams are stupid? If Dallas all of the sudden is looking to move Rush, that means they are keeping Grier. That means teams could wait for Rush to be released. No need to give up picks for someone about to get cut.
Josh Dobbs got traded for a 5th lol

I think Rush gets traded next year, when they know more about what they have with Lance. He'll mitigate the draft pick they gave up.

I think he could go for a 4th. Get back the Lance trade 4th rounder. Move Lance up to backup. Resign Grier to practice squad.

I think Rush would have signed elsewhere if another team wanted him. Grier does have a bigger arm but Rush has more experience winning games in the regular season. I wouldnt trade rush for a late round pick.

I could sort of see trading him for a conditional 7th that kicks in if he starts some games. That's probably the ceiling of his trade value.

Edit: I don't mean I can see the Cowboys making that trade. I mean that's probably the best offer they could get.
