Move him to someone who is ready to win except for having a NFL starting QB.

Prime candidate is Arizona. Give them Romo and assuming their O-line gets healthy and with their offensive weapons and their defense they are playoff bound.

Other Candidate is Jacksonville who also is a team on the upswing with a decent defense in place and a decent O-line and a real good running back. What they lack is a QB. Forget Tebo and selling tickets. Think playoffs and they aren't that far away.

Anyway, we let Kyle Orton have the reins to the Cowboys horse for next year and bring in a developmental QB. Then we draft some lineman and get rid of some deadwood that's really driftwood at this point.

Romo has to be worth a number 1 and probably a number 3 and a 4. Jimmy had the nads to do it with Herschel Walker so its time. Romo is a pretty beat up 32 year old at this point and I have to believe he is trending down at this part of his career.

Thoughts?

He doesn't need to resign. He should go to SF for his own benefit. I'm sure Harbaugh would love to have him.

while your at it, trade Ware and witten also. that should net us half the draft next year for our rebuild.

While were at it, we need to cut the following players that either suck or arent worth close to their contract: Sensabaugh, Austin, Beardeau, Free. Let Jones and Jenskins walk for sure.

But for my money, I focus on building the Oline and I make this a physical, running team and keep Romo around.

But none of this will matter unless we ditch Garrett. Until this clown is gone, we will be out coached every game.

Too late. We might get a 5th round pick now.

Draft a QB, let Tony finish his contract, and then let him go.

His CAP hit is like 14 million in 2013, I dont see how they can afford to keep him around at that number. They have to resign, trade or release him, if not next year is just a throw away season.

Romo gets one more season. After that I'm done with the guy. He's shown he can ball, he's a fine player and all..But when the lights shine, they proof is right there. He has that look in his face that says it all. He can't take the pressure when it gets big. That game yesterday, should of went for 5-8 interceptions.

I'm tired of 8-8 at best. Apparently no-one else is remembering the days when we were winning 1 to 3 games. I remember those days, but they led to better days. Come on, does anyone really think we are going to be better next year then this year? Lets go down the list of problems:

Number 1.

O-line has one starting quality member...........

Number 2.

Defense has no NFL quality space eater in the middle. I mean we aren't close to having someone there who folks regard as being a FORCE.

Number 3.

Safety positions (both) have been a sham forever.

Do I think Romo is the problem? NO! Do I think trading him can make a big difference down the road? YES.

Why not trade him now when he has value and try to figure out some way to improve the team in the long run? Guess we could just no resign him and then he can walk away after next year and we get NADA!

Instead of crapping on my idea, I'd like to hear some real thoughts on how to fix this mess??

Trade him.

Let him go someplace where they'll appreciate him.

He's proven he's incapable of winning important games here. When it matters the most, Tony Romo hasn't come up for us.

What's the point of another 8-8 season and no playoffs?

This mess is overlooked if we have a competent QB who does not throw THREE INTs in the big game. Not a rocket science. Romo is worthless to the cowboys except for possible future draft picks where a possible real GM might run football operations.

I agree with this because in 1-2 years, Romo won't have value. Romo has reached his peak and he isn't going to improve. Right now, a desperate team would likely provide us with multiple high draft picks and that could help this team a lot more in the long term. For example trading Romo to the Cardinals for two first round picks would be a great trade because those picks will likely be top 10 because the Cardinals have issues with their offensive line and won't really improve even with Romo at their helm.

If you wait to trade him one year from now, you lose all the leverage you have. As of now, Romo puts up great regular season stats and fans will excuse his play because the Cowboys have a weak offensive line and running game. By next year, his decline will be more evident and teams will give less for him. You have to strike while the iron is hot.

Nonetheless, I think there is 0% chance of this happening as Jerry loves Romo and Garrett.

Playing in ARI would net the same result for Romo. Going from one crummy line to another. Especially, when ARI could use those picks to improve it's line and bring in a QB via free agency.
